I didn't know this topic existed.  I added my vote! Single, and enjoying it!

Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: Operating systems questions
« on: June 07, 2011, 11:20:08 pm »
1) I have it set up that way, but I use a mac, with a secondary boot camp partition for windows.  You might be able to set up a hackintosh (just google it) but I can't help with that, as I've never done it.
2) Emulators are probably your best bet here, anyway.
3) Essentially, linux is just a kernel.  It's like the base system for all the others to use.

Other Calculators / Re: USB Cable for 84+

You can use any miniusb cable for calc to pc.  For usb8x and the like it must be mini-a, which is damn near impossible to find.
Unless of course, you order it online.

I'm pretty sure that it won't fully make a difference.  I would choose CS because I believe that gives you more options.  Because that way, you'll still be good at computers, but you have the added benefit of programming.  That's what I'm doing.  But I'm also probably going to get a masters and then a PhD, so...

Not sure.  Try right clicking and rearranging them by name.  It might make it recognize them.  Otherwise, can you select them.  As in, are they just invisible?

Any Mini-B to A usb cable would work.  I have tons of them for various things.
Indeed. I somtimes use the micro USB to usb cable that came with my PS3, and it works perfectly (until ti-connect stopped working and ti-lp doesn't do much either...)
I have SO MANY micro USB to USB cords it's crazy...

Mirco USB is not the same as Mini USB.  The calc uses an OTG Mini USB cable.  And yes, it's the same as most cameras use.  Nice handy little cable.

But than teachers would complain about us having them in school
Teachers are going to complain about it being not-TI.  I have no interest in over-throwing a big company like TI.  I would rather it be marketed as a small computer, and wouldn't care about it being used in school or not.  Most teachers wouldn't let you use the bigger version, whether you called it a calculator or not.

I also found Asm(3333 to work :P
Yeah, randomly increasing the stack pointer does seem to have that affect.

And compiling the "Lbl A:Sub(A)" thing shows that it is in fact, just a straight call back to 9D95.

Lol, I meant increasing the stack pointer fixes the problem
Oh, right, stack grows downward. This is why I can never really be a great z80 coder.  I can't remember stupid details like that!

That is one good thing about a live CD, mind you.  It really has no effect on your regular hard drive.  Just don't mess with anything.  I wouldn't even mount it, if I were you, if you don't know what you are doing.

1644: You know D-wave doesn't really have quantum computers, but your calc can simulate a qubit.
