Oasis / Re: Requests
« on: November 23, 2010, 07:17:57 pm »
I can test in mac, btw.  I have the svn checkout tool, a compiler, and so on.  PM me for details.

Request: Can it record log files of the compile? Can it compile to apps, os?

Write a program for it.  Unless you use some program (Which is slipping my mind right now. Something about Grayscale) that converts it for you.  I don't think TI's program does the 64th row.

Or I could just get ninja'd.

Oasis / Re: Oasis - cross platform z80 assembler

@graphmastur, what do you mean it doesn't build the binary? oasis.o was the binary, although I fixed that and oasis is now the binary. The included on was build on Archlinux so I don't know if Mac OS X would be able to use it. Try getting the new commit and let me know if there are any issues.
checked out, maked and run. I haven't compiled anything, but it shows the help menu and everything.  It also builds the oasis binary now.

I have found a bug. Copied from cemetech:
Okay, I tried the OS and found a huge bug in the OS. First of all, when you guess the correct number, it turns the contrast up, and then it says play again. But no matter what number you choose, it won't do it the second time. The contrast stays way up and such. Also, is there a source anywhere?

Is that SDK free? Also are people forced to charge money for their app? On Xbox Live they do.
You have to pay $99 dollars to be able to put your app in the store, but not to get the SDK.  You can charge $X.99 where X is pretty much anything, or you could charge nothing at all.  Apple takes, IIRC, %20 percent for each purchase.

Ya know, I think it would be awesome if apple made a kernel so you could essentially make your own os, but they would immediately lose all control over it.  There would be iphone viruses, and it would be bad.  Which makes me wonder how "open" we should be with OTCalc. </slightly offtopic>

Okay then, can we increase the percentages for each thing semi-dynamically.  E.g., if we have like 20 new users because of KOS release, or something, can we immediately increase the percentage.

Also, instead of two weeks, how about 3 days being offline. Just some ideas.  Overall, I think the bets way to prevent randomness from taking over is to prevent new users from being in randomness.  Like 10 posts or so to use it.

It should be interesting to see, though, because many randomness conversations will essentially "die", because no one remembers them when they come back.

Why is this in randomness? Also, the two week thing makes it kinda unbelievable. Break out the colored text! :D

Now hold up, companies aren't always "big and greedy".  Those big companies are what makes a strong economy. They have reasons for their decisions.  Think of it this way, DJ. as an admin, you make choices that affect this site. Because it is your site, you want it to do well. That is your motivation for keeping things out that you consider detrimental to your site. It's the same with companies.

Sorry, but the whole "profit and big companies are bad" thing really is a sore spot.

I wonder what method of signing it uses though. If we got a signed vs. Unsigned copy of an app, I could probably figure out.

No, it's probably trying to update the jailbroken device the same way a normal device is, but if he's got apps that are not signed by apple (as apple does the signing before releasing it to the app store) then they aren't valid, and so iTunes tries to get rid of them. If they are signed, then there's no problem.  Apple probably uses some form of SHA-2 and RSA(some public/private key algorithm)

Note that this is just speculative right now.

that.  OMG, that would make me sick, and I would never come back.  Please don't do that.

Interesting website ScoutDavid.  I like it with a little more css, but whatever your taste.  You should add a blog to it.

Lots of people have Win64, why didn't Texas make a compatible version with it?!
Why do we need the proprietary TI-Nspire Computer Link, when the TI-Nspire calculators could have been detected and used by computers as mass-storage devices?

We're in 2010 and soon 2011, TI... We're not in 1993 any more (1st TI Graph Link software, for the TI-85).
If I had the software and the setup, I'm sure I could reverse engineer the protocol it uses. It shouldn't be that hard.  Is anyone trying to make an open source driver? I'm pretty sure that Ndless used TI's drivers, right Critor?

Humour and Jokes / Re: If TI made a microwave...
« on: November 22, 2010, 07:04:06 pm »
I believe this was in reference to overclocking, but I'll give it my best shot.

1. It would have a run indicator always running.
2. When the microwave turns off, only the light goes off, and it makes no noise, but in reality, the microwave is still running.
3. Errors would automatically abort the current meal with no chance to correct them, then lock the meal inside the microwave because the meal could be radiocative.
4. The microwave is upgradable to use the new MircowavePrintTM, or MP for short, to make it really difficult to tell the microwave to run for 30 seconds.
5.  All times must be put in as some function of a quadratic equation.  (Quadratic solver not included, and must be re-programmed each time due to memory issues.)

880: you wantz cherriez
Does yours have any relevance?  if not, plz change it.

Technically, it is just a repeat of 864 and refers to Iambian, IIRC.

873. You notice that Michael_Lee jumped from 867 to 878.
874. You have your posts be in the correct order.

Well, I've decided to de-eggify my signature.  First to start it. First to end it. It was fun while it lasted, and would have been more fun had the server not been so slow.
