In this topic? It's hard to go 5 min without losing the Game on this site.  Anyway, It would require a custom driver, but yeah, I guess it could work.  I mean, the wires have to connect back to the printer port somehow.  I guess you would "print" stuff to your flash drive.

Actually, this is a rather simple problem to solve.  Simply install OS 0.46 with basic printing capabilities, and usb8x should be able to access the usb drive.  You don't technically have to win the game, but it helps.  Good luck.  The fate of the universe rests on your shoulders.

Voted. Although, I wished it had been one of the choices.

[OTcalc] Z80-Hardware / Re: [OTZ80] [Poll] Wifi or no wifi?
« on: August 28, 2010, 05:15:24 pm »
Yes, that's true.  But we don't want the ACT/SAT to see "wifi", and freak out.  What other options where we thinking about adding that were controversial?
Dvorak, Qwerty and Azerti
You mean azerty?
Anyway, I think that an alpha-lock will solve that.  As for wifi, maybe an extension, but not built in to the calc. My vote is no for including it, though.

How is SC2 modified? I wouldn't mind writing a small program to convert .8xi to png/jpg, but I don't know about the other way around.  Maybe, but it would have to be the right size, or it would crop it, and anything that was not a black/white pixel would not be included.

I didn't really see which ones to add. The first few privileges are really basic anyway. The arcade one was there for ages and the downloads section one was planned this way for a while. Everything below 50 are spam protections or the like. I would add privileges for the glitches/walkthrough section too, but it doesn't appear to work (I last tried half a year ago).
I see. Okay, that's fine.  Note: This is my 300th post. Yay, super member!

Yes, that's why we'll probably use an OTG port where both are acceptable.

One concern I have is where we will get those calcs to be build afterward, if this project comes to fruition. I doubt a lot of us would have time to assemble over 1000 calcs if somehow this project became very popular outside the community. We would need to have a place to do it and a bunch of people to do it.
Considering Licensing and such, copyrights, etc. I think we need to have a machine or something that makes them.  If we do that, then it won't be that hard to make calcs.  Right now, we don't have any of the resources necessary to do this.  When we have a clear view of what we are doing and what we need to do, we will proceed with donations and such to finance these types of things.

Native 44 level grayscale support. (routines for programmers)
DJ, 44 is such an odd number, and 32 gray is not enough.  Let's try 256 level gray.

Okay.  Then, we can discuss the z80 in the z80 topics, and arm in the arm topics. Thanks.
No, I am merging all existing topics into this one.

kidding, good idea. :P
Wow, just saw this post.
Question: Have we found someone to put the calculators together properly? Because I think that it would be a shame if all the plans were worked out to perfection and the calculators couldn't be made because of that.

That's indeed a question raised by Kerm on Cemetech.
My answer: anyone good with building electronics. Kerm is kind of busy, but he does have access to fun tools :)
I can do some soldering, provided that I have some time and schematics to work with.
No. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone right now.  That's also not a problem right now.  As by the time we get all the hardware decided on, and the schematics, there will be someone who can do it.  I'm more of a software/firmware person, but I have been trying to figure hardware stuff out more.

Thank you. Glad to be part of it.  Are you going to have a limit on the number of people that can join the team?

When I finish the data part of TAO, and get my own forum category (maybe) for it, then I will apply for COT.

Good job Bwang, apcalc, and Hot_Dog.  Here's your throne and royal scepter, DJ.

Yes.  What do you think of the transfer idea?

MicroUSB, eh? So tiny... :P
It's actually just a thinner plug, I believe.

A regular USB port shouldn't add too much to the size, though, would it? It's a lot thinner than a TI-83 :P
Yeah, but would it be practical?  I'm thinking that an OTG port for mini usb would be the most practical.  Maybe a mini-A to female usb cable?

Oh, there's an adapter? In that case, mini-USB it is...
