Yes, that's true. But we don't want the ACT/SAT to see "wifi", and freak out. What other options where we thinking about adding that were controversial?

True. Maybe don't include it in the Z80, and include it in the ARM version. It should be able to be completely turned off. We need to find a way to deal with those testing agencies though. If there is any way to communicate with them, they are banned.
Why not have an attachment that works with the usb plug or something. They can plug it in, and have wifi access. Also, you wouldn't need the USB with it, because you have wifi. Thoughts on this? This way, the test giver could easily see if an adaptor was attached, and a school teacher could see that they are not using wifi, because the plugin is not attached.

MicroUSB, eh? So tiny...
It's actually just a thinner plug, I believe. A regular USB port shouldn't add too much to the size, though, would it? It's a lot thinner than a TI-83
Yeah, but would it be practical? I'm thinking that an OTG port for mini usb would be the most practical. Maybe a mini-A to female usb cable?

IR is banned. I'm talking about something that would have to be literally right next to each other to do. They would have to be touching for it to work. This would only be for file transfers on some flat surface or something, not for two player games or transferring info over a long distance.

Or, how about a multi-colored LED, that a programmer can control. Maybe have an IR sensor on the top with the light, so that two calcs can be put together and talk via that lights and receivers. No cable needed.

ok so I just got the latest word in from ti.. basically they will forward it to the dev team. here's the whole line of conversation: edit: haha that guys good.. 'i have no idea'.
Wow, I hate to say it, but I told ya. Sorry about it, though. Maybe one day. The cake is a lie! The farthest you'll get is a supervisor, an e-mail supposedly sent to the dev team. Which may or may not get back to you. Good luck, though.

I'm thinking something on the lines of what Apple does, except with more information than just a pic
For what, exactly?
The box.

Of course. I think that if CAS is even remotely mentioned, then the testing agencies won't let it pass. Although, for the regular TI calcs, they won't check for TI/KnightOS, and just assume that it is TI-OS.

Yes, ironically, number 768. xkcd.org/768

Yeah, or have a non-CAS version.
True, but the problem is that they won't check every calc to see if it has cas, or not. Then again, non-cas calcs can have cas software put on them, or programs, that don't really help on the ACT. I don't know about the SAT, though.

I have two very minor bugs, and they might not even apply anymore, since I'm still using Axe 0.2.6 But just to let you know, AND logic between 0 and -1 seems to be true. In other words:
:If -1 and 0 :Disp "Hi!" :End
will always display "Hi!".
-1=signed version of 255 in 8 bit, or 65535 in 16 bit. So, technically, since it's not 0, it's a 1. So, the problem seems to be with and itself. Try 255 and 65535 explicitly, and see what happens.

So I guess you never got a response to your last message to TI, the one about adding assembly to the Nspire?
Yeah, I hit a dead end. I do apologize if you have found issues with any of Texas Instruments operating systems. I am unaware of the bugs you mention that the user community has fixed however any issues found with the Texas Instruments calculators operating system that are reported to us are forwarded to our development team for evaluation and repair in future releases of the operating system. In addition all issues that I have received and reported are slated to be fixed in the next release of the operating system.
For your second comment, I understand that the programs I previously mentioned don’t have the resources of a large company so that is a valid reason for the third party applications not being bug free however this doesn’t change the issues they caused.
I also understand that you wish for Texas Instruments to open the source code of the operating system for Texas Instruments calculators however I cannot make this decision so I will forward your comments to my superiors for consideration I cannot guarantee when or if a response will be provided to this inquiry.
I like how he says "I regret any inconveniences this may cause you." Ya think? Does TI put that at the end of every complaint letter?
Yes. They do.
