Yes, it would. Can we break away from this whole compatibility thing? A simple plug-in that people use for sound, plus the included 3.5 to 3.5 cable will take care of that.

I agree with the flash-drive and the wide-screen idea. Although a 3:2 ratio, I think, look best.

That is the last two options. Basically, there would be an option that if you had the rechargeable batteries, it would be chargeable via usb. This would be changed via the menu. If you had regular batteries, then the calc wouldn't charge them.
[EDIT] Also, please vote on all options. Someone didn't vote about the touchscreen and the battery issue. This is to make sure no one is cheating the system and voting for both yes and no. The combination of Yes results+No results should add up to the number of voters.

192x128 then perhaps?
Works for me. However, maybe the same size in inches, so the pixels are better.

Please vote yes or no for each pair of options. Please do not vote yes and no for the same option. Discuss and suggest options bellow. This is for me to get a better idea for what people want on this calc. Please ignore the fact that it might not be acceptable on the ACT/SAT. (For example, the touchscreen) This is kinda what your dream calc would have.
Happy voting.

A setting would be good. I like that idea. Maybe a "If you have rechargeable batteries" type thing.

I like the miniUSB, but still don't see a point for a micro-sd. I could transfer pdf documents from my phone to my calc, I guess, but this is supposed to have wifi anyway, so I don't know.
I don't think a touch screen goes over well with the ACT/SAT. I'm not sure, though.
A backlight would be awesome. I don't know if we even need a gpu. I mean, the only good it would do is for games. In which case, a z80 would be fine.

How 'bout the idea of having the calc able to charge Li-Ion rechargeable batteries while plugged into a computer, or something? Li-Ion AA/AAA batteries, that is.
Yeah, but how would it know if it was the right kind of battery? eg, not try to charge a non-rechargeable.

I added, to this page icons to show for hardware and firmware. Leaders aren't shown on that page. This way, you can see how many projects a person is part of. Any other suggestions/questions, please ask.

Yes, that is correct. I think a backlit lcd would be a nice feature that can be controlled by the OS. With different settings like always on, timer, off
You have to remember that battery life is gonna make or break this thing. If you want it to be successful you gotta make sure it can last a long time. I don't know how you plan on powering this thing, but 2 double A's or some sort of a rechargeable type of battery would be the way to go.
I agree on using the mini usb, that is gonna save some space and which is going to be a must. Another cool addition maybe as an accessory would be one of those motion detectors that was used like in kerm's etch-a-sketch. It has other uses other than just games, I could see it being used in a science class or something. If you could build it into the device that would be cool, but if it was sold as an accessory I could see it working that way as well.
Maybe an accelerometer?

No, that's what the link port is for. It spins the cable around at high speeds to fly. anyway, back on topic, does everyone like the idea to go to 20MHZ with low battery based on an option?

You should be able to check your battery in the memory menu or something.
ya but how often will someone if they are working on a big project.
note: we should have a killer lazier defense system to kill all thieves!!! mu ha ha
That's why it should be automatic. oh, and that's what the claws are for.

I never liked the warning on ti's screen. Maybe have it include spares batteries, or only run at 20mhz with a low battery.
I like that last idea, But how should the user know he's/she's ow on battery? Have a battery status at top right?
note: look who i quoted.
There probably will be a battery status, but I would think there would be an option in the menu to automatically change it or not. EG, if option is set, then calc goes to 20MHZ when on low battery. If not set, then stays at 50MHZ until the battery drains out. Note: Look who i quoted
