Do you remember the engine I posted in the Seeker thread a while ago? Probably not, well anyways here it is:
http://ourl.ca/14386/270062
^^That basically has pixel perfect collisions, it's not tilemap based like most. However, the source is moderately ugly and inelegant - for example I toyed around with weird stuff like 8x inflation and the like.
This helped me a bit, but i read parser's post :| (sorry!) Anyways, how would you also do left, right, and above the sprites check?

When the player dies, you could invert the screen and freeze anything else around him to get a bit of a dramatic effect in there

There are a lot of ways to get around your calculator, and a lot of ways that aren't documented at all, or very well. Let us post them here.
[2nd]+[LEFT] jumps to the beginning of a line [2nd]+[RIGHT] jumps to the end of a line Go to the program editor, and select new. Type in the name of an editable program you have in RAM. The program will now open in the program editor. NOTE: Does not work on Archived programs, even in zStart.
Also, in the program editor... 2nd+Alpha and you can scroll down faster EDIT: Whoops! Should've read previous post

If the beam doesn't need to be rotated, the code posted above should work well (although since the lines are vertical, I think the Rect() command may be faster). Does your flashlight beam need to be rotated? Because that completely changes the challenge
Yes it does need to be rotated (Just a test, not a game ) But wouldn't Rect( do a rectangle and not a "pyramid"-like shape?

I'm attempting to make a different kind-of flashlight test... Two lines start from the middle of the screen and stretch out to the points (0,63) and (95,63) "Keep in mind that they both start at (44,28)" How would I fill the space in between these lines? "Like a flashlight" I included a word document for a pic if you need to see it... (I'm not home atm )
