If you mean files on the local calculator, you can access libraries with Lua.
If you mean something like an sdcard, no, because we can't get yet hardware input .
There is though a chance that you can connect an sdcard to the dock, but more research has to be done on it.

I was already thinking that it wouldn't be necessary, but I wasn't sure. So thanks for en lighting me :)

I guess that the CX will also have a similar NAND chip that can't be read :/

Meh, sadly enough I can't do this with my nspire touchpad because its has a nand chip were I can't solder on :(

Ti.image is kinda complex.Check out this page I wrote: http://wiki.inspired-lua.org/TI.Image .
Also, I can give you some python/javascript code to create Ti.images If you want :)
