Maybe you could keep the help in a separated program on the calculator to some delete it?Yeah I guess, I'm planning to make the help program interactive tutorial, where the user actually presses stuff calculator tells them to do. I guess I'll make a separate program then~ 843

Okay, here's the screenshot with the battle scene. The battle doesn't do anything except run, b/c I didn't implement any magic, items, and animations and monster AI... The menu system is almost done, except the party menu needs some finishing touch, and I think it's gonna be similar to ROL4 menu.
Now, I gotta work on the magic and item system, party menu, and the animation for the battle 845

Drawing wanted...
Anyone wants to draw 3 20(width) x 24(height) pictures of faces? It's for my game (TLM) and I can't draw for my life... 2 of the faces are male's and 1 female. Ask me for more detail here or through PM Thanks guys!!! Edit: oh btw, if 20x24 is too big or too small, it is fine to change the dimension. I just thought that it is enough space to show some details and stuff... 846

Escheron: Shadow over Ragnoth / Re: Escheron: Shadow over Ragnoth« on: January 08, 2010, 09:44:25 am »What do you mean by "going foreward"? I think it means when you select something in inventory or something, the cursor is always at the top, but when you deselect (or leave the specific item menu), the cursor on the inventory menu is at the place where you were i don't know if i confused even more o.O and iambian, correct me if im wrong^^ 848

I'm done with the save/load feature, although I will have to improvise it to compress the data when the list gets too big.
And I am actually getting progress on battle engine too!!! In the random battle, there's going to be horiz screen. You and enemy+basic menu choice will be seen on the homescreen (bottom side) and the animation+advanced menu choice will be seen on the graph screen (top side). Once I post the screenshot up, it will be easier to understand I gotta work on the animations/magic/items! 849
Miscellaneous / Re: The Beauty of Dreams« on: January 07, 2010, 01:55:37 pm »
Haha yeah, when I was struggling to write a college essay, and could not think of anything to write, I dreamed about my past that i completely forgot about. The dream pretty much answered the essay problem, and i easily wrote that essay when i woke up ^^

yeah... that's why I kind of stopped trying to improvise my walking engine, and move on to making the in-game menu. Thanks guys for all the advice

TI Z80 / Re: TI Starcraft???« on: January 05, 2010, 11:26:44 am »
yeah, after few trials and error, massing the nexus and probe for the resource and teching up fast to get a lot of reaver proved to be the invincible strategy. There's no need to build any cannons, and if you have excess money, building some zealots or dragoons helped in defense early in the game too.

yeah i played them before (the protoss one, anyway) and found a way to kill the computer all the time, so I stopped playing (the key was to build as many nexus and tech up to build reavers and mass them, with an observer or two.)
However, it would be awesome to get the sprites from their games... I guess I'll contact the author if I decide to do this project 854
TI Z80 / TI Starcraft???« on: January 04, 2010, 09:42:14 pm »
I had an idea about starcraft for TI83+/84+/SE, using xLib. It will be Turn-based tho, and more like RPG tactics and such.
So each player starts with a base and 4 workers. When the worker is on the mineral or gas extractor, you have an option to 'mine' which will mine whatever price balancing requires. You can make a total of about 5 moves each turn, and once the unit moves/takes action, it cannot be used again. You may group up to 3 attacking units of same kind and move them around and attack as a group, and count as one action (workers can be grouped and moved around but only 1 will mine/build each action). Attacking happens like the usual RPG tactics, and the defending unit will be able to attack back if it is possible (within range). The building/unit will cap at around 30~50 for the memory sake. I don't know, it's just an idea I got thinking about TLM's tactics battle, http://ourl.ca/360950#lastPost and will not work on it right at this moment, but what do you guys think? 855
TI Z80 / Re: the Tale of Lost Map« on: January 04, 2010, 08:55:21 pm »
thanks! I think I can optimize a lot more, it's just that I kind of coded in more lengthy but easier language to understand what I'm doing, for example not using seq( or stuff like that.
Once February ends, I will be able to code most of my time since wrestling season will be over by then. Edit: Looking over the previous posts, I think the game changed soooo much since the beginning... It was supposed to be horizontal sprite graphing and etc., and many other stuff, but as the year went on, it now came down to ASCII homescreen map with side-scrolling walking, and many other stuff I wonder how much more the game will change before it's released... |
