Well, I'm not an expert on neither of these utils, but I'd suggest you ask directly the authors https://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=12130 They all can understand and reply to you in English. I'm pretty convinced they'll be more than happy to answer some of your queries. Good luck.
Sounds good! Since I have no idea how to contact the developers directly, I'll just ask my questions on the nBoot installation thread, as others were asking their questions there, and most of my questions have more to do with nBoot than nLaunchy. Thanks!

Hello, everyone. Recently, I installed nLaunchy to dualboot CX 4.2 and CAS CX 3.1 on my revision A calculator. Everything was going great (and still is), until suddenly... OS 4.3!!nBoot!!It was only a matter of time until I installed nBoot on my other revision V nSpire CX, but then I got thinking: should I ditch nLaunchy and switch to nBoot (with ControlX) on my revision A, and use all the cool new features (i.e. overclocking without recompiling & 4.3 support)? Does nBoot permit me to load CX CAS as well as normal CX? Can I install nBoot and nLaunchy at the same time? Can I extend the limit of 100MB of storage on my calculator with BtMg and some way to execute arbitrary code? I am hoping that someone (or more!) could answer at least some of these questions, as right now I am in a state of confusion and amazement of all this new(ish) software. Thank you!

Good ol Ebay happened to have one for $40. I just got lucky
Do not update to 4.0 or 4.2. Install 3.1. You can use Nlaunchy to dual boot 3.1/3.6 or 3.1 CAS/3.1 or 3.6 non-CAS.
I can give you a guide.

Hey, I know I'm not the person who started this thread, but could you send the guide anyway? Dualbooting CAS and non-CAS is something I have been looking - in vain - to do.
All right.https://youtu.be/q_C3a03QwPg

Yes people are reading the thread. We don't have a large set of users still using the nspire, so I'm not sure if you'll get the answer you are looking for here.
Gut feel is that dualbooting on the nspire isn't the easiest thing to do since the OS wasn't designed to be dualbooted.
Edit: Looks like dual booting 3.1/3.6 is possible via nlaunchy, but not the latest OS.
Ahh, thank you! Sorry if I was being a little... pushy. Also, it seems to be a coincidence that I actually replied to that thread!

(I may leave some things out, please notify me if I do so) Hello, everyone. I am going to print my specifications here, because my computer crashes frequently and didn't save a draft: Calculator: TI-nSpire CX HW-A OS Version: 4.2 Other: nLaunchy from the CX folder at the Github + Ndless I am asking if I can dualboot CX OS at the latest version and CX CAS OS at 3.2 (or later, if it is possible). There is a guide for switching to CX CAS, but not dualbooting it: https://www.omnimaga.org/general-calculator-help/installing-cas-on-ti-nspire-cx-non-cas/60/ . I realize this may be a tall task, and if it is simply not possible, would someone kindly say so? Thank you in advance. EDIT: Okay, um. It's been a while now, and quite a few people have viewed this thread... I guess no one knows the answer? It would be nice to know if anyone is even reading this thread, however. EDIT2: Hey hey hey, I figured out how to hyperlink! I suppose I'll lock this thread now, seeing as it's pretty much useless (and mostly me just pushing for answers).

Boy, are you lucky! A hardware revision less than J is pretty rare these days. I must ask, where did you buy that calculator? Anyway, you can update to 4.2.0 or 4.0.3 (although there isn't much difference), and install Ndless ( http://ndless.me/ ). If you'd like, you could also install Nlaunchy ( https://github.com/Excale/nLaunchy ), a program that allows Linux and many other things, such as converting your non-CAS to a CX CAS! Good luck!

Step 1. Download nsNandMgr: https://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=10080Step 2. Extract nsNandMgr.tns and place it on the calculator. Step 3. Launch the program and enter your TI-Nspire hardware revision (in your case, V). Step 4. Press 5 to go to the boot data options. Step 5. Press 7 to remove the downgrade protection. Wait for the operation to complete. Step 6. Press esc twice to exit the application. Step 7. Connect your calculator to your computer, and install any TI-Nspire CX OS, as long as it is version 3.9.1 or above (hardware revision V restrictions). Step 8. Set up your calculator again, install Ndless, and you're good to go!

Now im get this error if i try to install a package
W: not using locking for read only lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock E: Unable to write to /var/cache/apt/ E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened
Actually, I believe the correct command is mount -o remount,rw / @Ivoah , isn't the filesystem supposed to be mounted read/write at all times?

The username should be root
Thank you. This time, I'll try typing it in very slowly. EDIT: Huzzah! Everything is working properly! USB-OTG definitely is not the best, though. I should probably look into getting a shorter one.

Oh, I misread your problem. Are you absolutely sure you typed the password correctly? Remember that not every button on the Nspire keyboard types what is printed on it. I would recommend having your password be just letters and/or numbers, no special characters.
My password is only numbers and letters... now that I'm thinking back on it, I probably should've made it something simple, like "root". Anyway, even if I have the password 100% correct, what would the username be?

First, yay! I'm glad it finally worked Yeah, I forgot that it doesn't have the tns extension. Actually, I think I'll say to rename it to just 'nspire.dtb.tns' so that they don't need to change the boot script. About your not being able to type issue, make sure not to touch the touchpad after you launch the start_usb script. For some reason it'll break the keyboard in linux. Once it's all booted up though you should be able to touch it again. And lastly, thanks for using my tutorial, and showing me where I needed to update it.
Not being able to type? Well, I can type, but that bit about the touchpad is interesting. What my problem is I can't figure out what the username and password are. I tried root/toor, root/(password I set in the tutorial), (blank)/root, (blank)/(password I set in the tutorial), and I have no name!/(password I set in the tutorial). Is there an emergency login I can use? Also, you're welcome

Well, your post made me realize that I never updated my tutorial for the new dtb kernel. The updated instructions are here: http://ivoah.net/blog/2016/03/20/how-to-install-debian-on-a-ti-nspire/
So, I should restart the tutorial from the beginning? Yay... EDIT: So, after actually reading the tutorial, it seems I only need to change the files on the calculator. EDIT2: It worked! Thank you for all your help! Also, one last suggestion for the tutorial: maybe you should tell the reader to rename the DTB to have a .tns extension at the end? EDIT3: Today, I have learned something valuable: my USB-OTG is really not so good. Most of the time, it kernel panics because it can't find the rootfs. However, sometimes, it does load to the login prompt. Although, I can not login, no matter what combination of usernames/passwords I use. Is there a specific username to use? I have set a password in the guide. Thanks.

Ah yeah, that won't work. Try this instead
Thanks, I set up a blank sources.list on my desktop, pasted all that in, set it to chmod 755 just in case, and copied it to the USB. I'm finishing debootstrapping now, hopefully it works! EDIT: It did not work. It failed on step 12; I get this: Linux in-place bootloader v2 (ba0d0fa) Build date: Sun, 23 Feb 2014 19:18:37 +0100 Allocated memory: DTB/ATAGs: 16128 bytes Kernel and initrd: 26804224 bytes Machine number: 4443 Detected a CX Physical memory at: 0x10000000-0x14000000 Serial number: 3fce820120 rev0 (Non-CAS) kernel linux/zImage.tns Kernel successfully loaded cmdline root=/dev/sda1 Kernel command line: "root=/dev/sda1" rootdelay=10 Unknown command boot I then have to restart my calculator to do anything else. Please, help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Oh huh, I thought that my instructions said to download the sources.list from my site. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Could you post the contents of your sources.list?
