Graviter / Re: Screenshots

I've updated the first post with some of the more recent screenshots, so any visitors coming here will see the new version as opposed to the old :P I still have to make captions for the newer screenshots, though.

The older devices can't run the newer OS because Apple is mean :( There's a way around it to "spoof" your software version, but it requires a jailbreak or at the very least a modified IPSW.

Just got it - this thing is pretty handy! Just wish it had IRC support though :P

Just a little heads up - the real game has a hitting system that does one hit, then a bunch of hits really quickly. I'm not sure if you want to stay that faithful to the original, but just letting you know :D

Hey Augs - before making new topics, I'd recommend you use that search feature up in the top right. I've found a thread where calc84 (creator of Ti-Boy SE and other emulators for calc) talks about the development process of such an emulator right here:

http://ourl.ca/6307

so maybe you could check that out?

Odd. I just downloaded it off the zContest site seeing as I lost all my backups :P I've uploaded it here as well.
Just a note, this project is official discontinued (for a variety of reasons). One is that I've lost my calculator, and two is that this project was, from the start, highly experimental. It was more of a project to get me to learn new things rather than to make an actually playable game.

Pt-Mask draws on the two buffers to get 3 shades of grey.
Is there an equivalent to get 4 shades or is it necessary to use two Pt-Off ?
No there isn't. But the reason Pt-Mask has only 3-level gray is that the fourth color/combination is transparent, so you don't need to have always square shapes.
Ok, thanks.

Wait, for 4 shades, is it like this ?
L3,L6
 0,0 → white
 0,1 → dark grey
 1,0 → light grey
 1,1 → black
Indeed.

The thing is, scrolling games give the illusion of a larger world, which really contributes to the depth of a game. That being said, not all games need scrolling to be great games.

If you're going for a SHMUP, I would say make a bullet hell. There's enough of the overused standard arcade shooters on the calculator, but people really go for hardcore games around here. It would also be good if you could utilize graphics that aren't humdrum.

RPS's AI is actually pretty good O.o either that or I'm awful at rock paper scissors -__-

Lol Vortex and E.P. have been neck and neck for a while now XD Last I saw they were both at 5!

Yup. :O

Well I would assume it's really easy to cheat with a RPS AI o.O
On another note, Vortex and E.P. are both amazing entries, and I can't wait to see how this competition ends :O

The projects this year are amazing and I can really see the dedication put into them - I fully think that these projects far outshine the ones from last year, in fact :O
