Other Calculators / Sprite Sizes

What sized sprites does everyone use? Like for any type of game or anything. The only ones I can think of are 7*7, 8*8, 16*16, and 32*32 but I'm assuming there are more that people use. Thanks :)

Thanks guys :) I'm not really looking for a "Sprite-to-Hex" converter (besides to look for examples of how) because I just needed to kinda understand the basics so I can hopefully implement it into a program I plan to work on soon.

Hello All,

Could someone please explain how hex works with creating sprites and all that? All I really know is that [FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF] creates a solid 8*8 block while [0000000000000000] leaves a blank 8*8 area. Any help is very appreciated :)

Well if it was even possible you could not have smooth scrolling until you encountered a boss, then it would kick in, then when you exit the room it stops again. If that makes any sense.

Level. This is fairly common in some Zelda games, where items have multiple levels. i.e., a L2 sword is better than an L1 sword.

I've redone the quest screen a bit:



The very bottom row is your status HUD, which is displayed both on this screen, and while exploring. I wanted to keep the height at 8 px so it doesn't intrude too much on the action screen.

Oh ok, ya now that you say that it makes sense what L1 and L2 are. The screen shot looks awesome. How are you going to stack arrows past nine though? It just doesn't look like there is enough room for two numbers.
