correct. you would have an obvious...bias...
however, perhaps there could be a judge only competition where the rest of the forum decides which is the best. 829
Miscellaneous / When will you die?« on: May 03, 2006, 02:22:00 pm »
It will also predict HOW you will die. Switch statements make life so easy...forms are still a pain to make though, its what I still have to finish doing...
so you know, everything on there will have an effect...even if you can't figure out what that effect is...and I will do my best to make it bizzare and complicated so you would have a hard time just looking to see whats going on. 830

The issue of judging a GAME is that there is an issue of length and consistancy. "I played the game and I saw a pretty picture in the first 5 seconds so I give it a perfect score"-that is an exagerated example of why. Also, the closer to the top of a list is, the more likely it will win in most cases. I have a rubrick to compare each game, one I would not believe everyone else would follow. Finally, after a number of these games are added to archive, a poll for the forum's favorite could be done. So, short answer, if you want to judge than aplly. I am also dropping a number of things from the application...

I've decided to make my own. Should just take a few hours to make and all...then I'll make it pretty.

I don't feel bad about it. It just is very diffrent and as such I am having to figure out stuff as I go. Also, decimals are used for a number of things.

you make basicaly a complicated maze. Get from point A to point B to go to the next level. I thought "Necro's Puzzle" sounded nicer than "Necro's Complicated Strategy Maze"...but any ways. I have a basic map edito that I will add a few more tools to. Right now it alows you to work on a level, press a button to test the level, and press a level to let you go back to what you were working on. I have been thinking about ways to improve some of the interfaces, and may have some soon. A filled rectangle of a tile w/ decimal is planned, and an easier teleport destination system will likely be added very soon, as well as possibly switching tile selecting to a graphical tile set layout and alow stacking to appear graphicaly on that screen.
Computer editor is coming VERY slowly as it is hard to program in a langauge you have limmited experience with. I realy need to find more time to work on learning it better. 837

We have had sevral entries, keep em coming! Also, if no juging staff apply I will asume sole judging duties until some people apply. As I chose this topic to delay the need for this, I am not thinking of delaying a programing contest any longer.

didn't ruebon use a bunch of ram libraries to, though? If you removed those in place of xlib and auoto archive-to- ramining, how much memory would be used?
