Lasers? i think yes. you can kill enemies! the laser is a highly sophisticated, detailed, meticulously made spri-wait nope. it's just a 10x6 block with Gimp's "Pinewood" pattern filled in. but looks pretty good.
and... the 666th line of my code, the most evil:
}
intense.
screenshot which was very hard to make because holding up arrow key + right arrow key + pressing z + printscrn == hard:
Boom. Headshot.

I don't even know how to put graphic on java...
do you want an example program? it isn't too difficult, i could make an overly-commented program where you move a ball around with the arrow keys if you want. by the way, what IDE do you program in?

collect gems...reach the flag....EXODUS!
yes!! This looks really nice! It'll be neat to see how this does in a contest.
i'm wondering too. last year's winner was a some typing-speed game.. and 2nd place was hangman, and third was an algebra suite. the directions do say they allow games, but i'm afraid they're discriminated against for not being as educational. i.e. a typing game, hangman and an algebra suite can all be seen as educational in one way or another. i'm thinking of adding some psychological cutscenes, but i'm not too sure. DJ, this one actually wouldn't be too difficult a level once i implement the laser. just like in Exodus, you can jump on top of the block right above you. as a picture: Y |_| X you can jump up to the Y

can you even begin to argue for impossibility when this is such an overwhelming huge universe? Yes, ¬(P∨¬P). QED.
ever heard of a rhetorical question? (hint included)

no, describing what is success and what is failure does not manipulate data. describing success and failure defines how the data should be interpreted. you can fudge the interpretation of data, though. just look at the global warming crusade. Chlorofluorocarbons are used in refridgerants, destroy O3 and are generally claimed to be a cause of global warming. you know what else is a large source of CFCs? Volcanoes. The actual data of how many CFCs are being released into the atmosphere cannot be manipulated. it's a straight fact. sure, you can lie about it. but the actual quantity won't change. the interpretation will. "Success" and "failure" is defined by what the researcher is looking for, which CAN and WILL influence what data is collected--and how it is collected. I'm not talking about the dictionary definations of these words.
you've just proven my point. a 100% success rate is possible because a researcher defines successes and failures. Thank you. Also, i think Homer is right. in a finite set 100% success if very possible, and in an infinite set it is very difficult ( not impossible). just try to comprehend how large the universe is and how many trillions of galaxies there must be and how many trillions of solar systems there are within each galaxy, with multiple planets in each. can you even begin to argue for impossibility when this is such an overwhelming huge universe?

good ol' TIBD. edit, and yeah i guess the limit would be 2^16 bytes. but since there isn't that much RAM on the calculator it'd be pointless.

yup, this is for him, and he does move pixel by pixel. (: andd more progress! gems are collectable! enemies are on the board! they're animated, and restricted to their platform. collision detection with enemies is implemented, but not enforced, because as of now there's no way to kill enemies. new flag tile was added. edit: 900th post! and the game almost has 666 lines of code! (you lost by the way). edit2: new gem bug edit3: i'm cautious to say i fixed it.. but fixed it..

-my body releasing carbon dioxide has nothing to do with what i breathe in. -looks like i should've reworded. is successfully participated in every single soccer game. as in, i was on the field for at like a couple minutes playing in regulation high school time against an opponent. -i said i was 100% in attendance. that means that 100% of the days i was physically in school. i haven't gone to the bathroom in school this whole year. we have gross bathrooms. i've been late to a class. but does that mean i wasn't at school? no. i was still on the campus. no, describing what is success and what is failure does not manipulate data. describing success and failure defines how the data should be interpreted. you can fudge the interpretation of data, though. just look at the global warming crusade. Chlorofluorocarbons are used in refridgerants, destroy O 3 and are generally claimed to be a cause of global warming. you know what else is a large source of CFCs? Volcanoes. The actual data of how many CFCs are being released into the atmosphere cannot be manipulated. it's a straight fact. sure, you can lie about it. but the actual quantity won't change. the interpretation will. fair enough, about the last point though.

whoa, this is nice. how are you implementing your score system when you clear a line of blocks? you may want to look at this

* King Graphmastur puts this topic back on topic once again. People, stop arguing! Make another topic if you want to argue about your ideas and such, just not in Sir's thread like this.
sorry the idea bugs me. Sir, i haven't exactly been reading along (just saw matthias' psychology thing and became engrossed), but i saw your first post. i'm very sorry, though it looks like you're managing to get some progress done on most projects

First of all because you used the word "fail" which is prohibited in my dictionary To quote the lovely folks from 'Mythbusters', "failure is always an option".
NLP is providing structures and methods that work on 99% of the people. And if one method does not work on person A then changes are very slim a other method wont work either. NLP also wields the power of language. Both verbal and nonverbal language. NLP has some much tricks in it that it has a 100% succes rate because no one is completely immune to NLP (except for the dead xD) It is impossible to have a 100% success rate--at least, not without someone fudging the data. And until you provide me with quantifiable, unbiased, scientific fact, I am inclined to be very dubious of your claims.
impossible to have a 100% success rate? - every time i take a breath, i breathe in air. 100% of the time. successfully. - this soccer season, i successfully played in every single JVA game. that's 100%. - i didn't miss school the entire first quarter. i was successfully, 100%, in attendance. clearly, someone is fudging the data on my life, because it is impossible to not miss school for 45 days. you must have at least one absence. that word impossible is thrown around too much. i don't agree completely with matthias either, but i'm not going to call his theory impossible.
