That is an awesome awesome, Netham45.

Any plans for mapping keyboard keys?

Done. Keys -should- be the same as wabbits keys.

Computer Projects and Ideas / Web-based Wabbitemu Frontend
« on: November 30, 2011, 04:34:27 pm »
As some of you might recall, I started a project for a web-based Wabbitemu frontend about a year and a half ago. I stopped working on it after maybe a couple weeks. Recently, I picked it up again. I've reworked it into being a standalone webserver to overcome a number of issues that were caused by the more full webservers. This also simplifies the means for transferring data from the emulator to the webserver considerably.

Note that this is running on my desktop and may not be up consistently, nor is it perfectly stable.
I'll also have to ask you guys not to poke around with the server too much, it doesn't have the best of error handling.

ToDo List:
  • Allow variable/app uploading
  • Allow some sort of persistent saves, possibly through a user account system
  • Make the server more robust

Known bugs:
  • Opera tends to use high amounts of CPU with it
  • It's capped at 32 calculators. Any more than this will simply not load. I need to make it recycle old calculators or something.
  • IE

I'm planning on getting file/app uploading working on it, too.

I'll be posting the source code under whatever license Wabbit uses pretty soon, I just have a few things I want to clean up.

It doesn't yet. There is a version in the works for that, though.

The issue is that the users with lower respect are generally newer, and those users tend to react much more violently to getting -1'd than the more seasoned members. We've seen it happen quite a few times where people blow up after getting -1'd when they don't agree with it.

The 'Other Calc-Related Projects And Ideas' section should have a subforum for PC tools to aid in calculator development, no? Like 'Calculator-related PC tools'

It's broken for me in the latest dev version too. I'm having a bit of a hard time tracking down why, though.

Ah, yea, the ratings are in no real order. They're -mostly- chronological, but since there's no timestamp to sort off of they're just in the order that the DB returns them in.

That's the title of your post. By default, replies are prefixed with Re:

You had a big inactivity period there, though, didn't you?

Nope, I was active for every month from when I joined till when I got my first 50 respect ^^

Ah, okay. That was you that took like a 4 month vacation, though, right?

Since it's mildly on topic: Spamming respect, either positively or negatively, is against the rules. You're allowed to use it for when you genuinely feel a post deserves a +1 or a -1, but spamming to help users reach 50 or whatever constitutes abuse.

Already on it, and the offending users have been contacted.

Lol why is there a restriction on people who have less than 50 respect?

We wanted to keep new users from complaining about being downrated on every post as much as possible.

It's true. IE>FF.

Yes, it's a known bug in FF that the channels joined aren't persistent. They started alphabetically sorting cookies that document.cookie returns in like FF4 or FF5 which broke it, I was relying it on being the last cookie returned (bad practice, but I pumped out that code in like 30 minutes)
