Seeing as how we have an Axe Q&A, I thought it would be nice to have a TI-BASIC Q&A. Although this probably won't be used as much as the Axe one, I thought it would be a good Idea to have a thread where you can ask questions about TI-BASIC! ...So, anyone want to start us off with our Q&A?

So, for my game swords, I am having trouble with collisions with things like speed up/downs, keys, and other non-moving objects. Should I use a X,Y coordinate to do this, or some other method? And how would I go about doing that? And what collision checks should I use for moving objects? (enemies). any help would be great.

As some of you may know, I have recently been working on a game that I am calling swords. This is my very first game written in Axe parser. Of course it is not complete, so I was wondering what stuff/features I could add to it to make it better... feel free to post them. (even if they are mean ) Oh- in the game (you just lost) use these keys: 2nd, alpha, arrow keys, clear. Enough said... Screenie time!! EDIT: I decided to make it easier for you to download it than going to the 15th page. here is the finished version: EDIT (again): source is included below. EDIT: 3/5/11-new version with a "set contrast option".

Ok, so here's my question: If I have something displayed on the graph screen in axe, and then I want to be able to press a key and store it as a REAL picture, not an appvar, how would I go about doing that? Second question: How would I store the pic into an appvar and then recall it in a different program? (ok so 2 questions )

I am looking for a tutorial on jumping, but one for a COMPLETE beginner. I haven't been able to understand any so far. If you could explain it or recommend a tutorial that would be great. [random question] I have been noticing that in advanced programs in axe, (such as the demo rpg) in the beginning the sprites are declared and then it just has something like this: :[FF36C78465378FC 1636374858CCFCF3 352CFFFC3T5376CD 3] :
but it doesn't store it or anything. what is the use of this? [/random question]

Guess what? you'll never guess. I wanted to see if I could simulate gravity, and it mostly worked! this is my first ever real not really game, but sort of useless program in Axe! I am so happy. But, I have one question: run the program, and you will see what the problem is, it is too hard to explain.
I guess I should tell you the controls in it: 2nd-turn pixel on mode-turn pixel off Y=-clear entire screen Graph-go to gravity simulator clear-exit 2nd(while in gravity simulator)-rocket boost arrow keys-move
source and executable are included

I went to my profile and selected "upload my own pic" and selected the desired pic, and went down and clicked change profile. But it didn't save my pic. suggestions?
EDIT: never mind, it worked, as you can see...

I have just decided to learn python with my father. So my question is: what are the things that I have to do in order to get python to work on my linux computer? Is there something that the computer allready comes with, or do you have to download something? Note: the computer's OS is open suse 11.1... I am pretty sure.
