I know some people criticized some features, such as the rating system, so I need to know what we could do to improve Omnimaga so it would be more friendly and more drama-less. Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks.
I think that adding politics to the list of things to not discuss here would be a good idea, seeing all of the flaming and locking of the recent politics topic.
Nah... we've been able to handle these kinds of topics before. I think we just need better moderation - not to put any more pressure on you guys - but just a bit more emphasis on those hot topics. If we can handle religion topics, surely we can handle politics, right?
But aren't religion topics disallowed?

Well, I meant something more concrete such as completely disabling the post ratings system and enforce the nDoom policy 12 months a year.
Oops, sorry About those, I would say that the post rating system actually can be, IMO, a rather good deterrent to trolling amongst most users (the true trolls will troll either way).

There is, but I'm not sure it would be legal to release it... Very long story that I'm too tired to look for With that being said, I think we can definitely help you learn Lua Welcome to Omnimaga!

Illinois, US.
So. Freaking. Flat.
Corn everywhere.
+1 for truthfulness, but I imagine I'm farther north than you (Chicago area) BTW, I saw Illinois's biggest hill the other day- it was about 15 feet high

Some of the kids in my school are posting themselves smoking pot and doing stupid shet on facebook... All I can say about that is that they are going to have a hard time finding jobs...
Or getting into college, for that matter.

Wow... My school is actually really clean comparatively... no massive drug busts, not much sex, almost decent IT ( ), and a generally civil atmosphere. I feel really lucky right now.

I identify myself as a Republican, but really, I'm a fiscal conservative and a social liberal (idk what that is).
I'd imagine that the economic issues you lean more towards being a conservative. And with social issues, you are closer to being liberal.
Sorry for being unclear I meant that I didn't know what the political term for that is.

I thought I'd make this as a study tool. This one shouldn't be too hard to make... I hope

Hi everyone! I have just been commissioned by my school to create a math program (with password protection, formulas, etc) that may aid us in math team. I probably shouldn't be telling you guys this, but oh well. Unfortunately, I'll be spending time on this at the expense of my other programs, and, with school and band ( ), I may not have much time to work on those. I'm just letting you guys know about this so that you don't think that I've lost interest in coding/Omni- don't worry, I haven't. Thanks! P.S.- I'll try to get permission to load the source code here eventually, but I'm not too optimistic about that
