Miscellaneous / Re: What do you program
« on: May 21, 2011, 07:22:44 pm »
I'm programming some libraries of thermodynamic properties of liquid water and steam for the TI-nspire because I needed it.
But I started programming in QBasic about 5 years ago and then complemented my skill programming the TI-83. Then I learned the basics of VB.net 2005 just to see how easy was it.
I also know matlab, but I prefer to spend my time creating tools I can use on university tests and exams.

So I'm kind of an advanced TI-BASIC programmer...

I don't think I'll pay anything more, it should be accessible as a add-on for the student software or in any future update of a 3.1 OS where they could eventually extend the possibilities of BASIC and Lua... But this is me just dreaming...

is there any chance to run ndless in OS 3.0 in any term?
do you think TI left any hole which can be exploited?

can the emulator run OS 3.0.2?

EDIT: post 40!!! i can chat with you now :D

anyway it would be awesome if someone could make an sd card reader working fine. I remembered about 5 years ago in my math classroom during high school almost everyone had casio's calcs with SD card support. And I had a TI-83 without any cable to connect anywhere. Now I'm in university and got a nspire CAS touchpad and still much less memory than the older casio ones because of the non-existance of the SD reader...

Back in those times, I loved my TI-83. I could do anything my imagination alowed with that. And now I'm stuck with this supposed high-end calc (the CX was annouced 20 days after I bought this).

is there any way to connect an sd card to the nspire? :p maybe embedding a microSD reader, that'd be great....

It links to hackspire, that's why I though it was made with the tools made by the community.
If it was saved on the 3.0.1 student software it would work as perfectly on OS 3.0.2 as if it was made with TI tools or a SDK, right?

How can one prove there were used oficial ti tools and its not a simple save on the student software?

this is a great discovery, but it looks this was done with the same tools that we have.

i don't believe that'll result in a production nspire, maybe someone disassembled it's nspire and mixed up with a computer motherboard to do some experiments...

The anti-downgrade protection is somewhat predictable. They don't want us to downgrade to OS 3.0.1 and brick our calculators: That would mean more expenses for them.

Check this: http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1109

If this tool is released for free then that could be a light at the end of the tunnel for this OS, anyway by now I'll stick with the OS 3.0.1 without boot2 and wait till something really good convinces me to upgrade. By now I can't see any reason since I can downgrade and use ndless again, ndoom was awesome and I don't want to close the doors of playing it forever.

So then is there something new which can make me see this 3.0.2 as a real upgrade?

This is funny xD apple goes downsizes itself by telling things like there to their users.
Everyone knows that apple's safari isn't the worst because micr0sof7 still insists on battling on the lost war of browsers :P
