Q1: the repeater should just send any signals it recieves (acts as a go between, extends wifi range).
Q2: if the router, repeater, and Wii all use the same network style (802.11 B/G or A)
Q3: a little bit, but don't worry about it.

Actually, right now, the Core 2 Duo is the processor to have (AMD really doesn't have a chip that can compete with it, sorry guys), though it is starting to change.

yeah, you will always have to have both the desktop and laptop on to use the Internet on the desktop, and crossover cables can be a pain at times.
