General Calculator Help / Re: Hacking the TI Nspire CX Native OS?

Also Nlaunch does not work on the CX since it exploits a bug in boot2(or is it boot1) code from before the CX's

My guess is that the only think you could get would be the assembly code for the OS and I believe the nspire is an ARM so you'd need a knowledge of ARM assembly

Computer Programming / Re: Ah! Help!« on: January 16, 2013, 10:31:48 pm »
Remember to not only remove spaces, but also punctuation. I'm not sure how to implement it in java, but I know it has a dictionary object so I would loop over each word and assign the word as a key and the value as how many of them there are. Then list the keys by size of the value.
I'm not sure on the second one. 184
Computer Programming / Re: getting load status for individual commands?« on: January 16, 2013, 06:58:14 pm »
Do you have sleeps and stuff like that so that the bot isn't constantly trying to execute code? Thats one of the main reasons it may use too much CPU. Otherwise you could put timing code into it to see what is using up the most CPU time

Other Calculators / Re: Best calc for programming?« on: January 15, 2013, 10:32:57 pm »
The prizm is a good calc for programming. The nspire has a little more going for it currently though. With linux you can do pretty much anything with it.

That is really interesting I might try using it one day in class. I always try to avoid using a calculator when I can.

If you get the stuff an 83/84 should be fine. Most of the hard problems will not be calc anyways.

I have five or six.
One for personal(its the one my parents and scouts know) One that was originally for school, but is now linked to my phones and google+(gmail) One that I use for facebook and giveaways(gmail) One I use for anonymous online(Its my omni email for example. My other ones have part of my name in it so I'd rather not use them)(gmail) One that was given to me by school(Its a google apps account I use it purely for school and communicating with others in school since its preloaded with the emails of everyone else) One for a club I run in school(gmail I barely touch it) 193

It may be useful to have it, but I would avise a CX CAS if it's allowed on the test if you choose to get one. I personally use my prizm in class. It does everything I need it to do. You can do numerical integration and I know symbolic well enough to do it quick on my own.

I also read just now that there are 1tb 2.5" ssd's being released for $600. Its amazing how small storage is getting. Next thing you know we'll have 1tb sd's.

nSDL / Re: nSDL 1.0.2—A very fast & robust graphics library« on: January 10, 2013, 08:05:53 pm »I actually looked at SDL2, and I've been waiting for a long time for a stable version to come out (even for one PC project I'm working on that uses SDL2). Even when does come out, SDL2 has very little to add to a machine such as the TI-Nspire, expect maybe for the included drawing (lines and whatnot) functions.yeah I see how SDL2 is more for higher power devices. I don't think there's much added that you can't easily implement as a side part. |
