Lots of people think of lua how they think of python that it is just for scripting and can't really do much. Both though have a much greater pwoer then most people give them credit for in their own area of expertise. Lua is tables and python imo is just ease of code(I don't remember what the real thing is supposed to be).

THEQUICKBROWNFOXJUMPSOVERTHELAZYDOG
The keyboard that came with my laptop testing on my old(non usb) keyboard in a min THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG works perfectly on that keyboard and its not a high quality one by any means. Could it be that this only affects usb keyboards? if so does that mean laptops ones are usb?

My aunt gave me a new computer. It is a Pentium IV at 1.7ghz with 128mb RAM not sure what to do with it. It has a 37gb hard drive with 4gb used up by windows xp. before I saw the RAM I was thinking of running it with VNC so I could access my computer and files from wherever I was with internet, but then I went and looked at the RAM. Its disk drive is only for CD's says CD-ROM but I'm gonna try it with a CD-R in a bit to see if that would work. So what do you guys think I could do with this? I want something interesting/fun to do with it. I will be able to assure it continuous Internet(wired it seems to have two internet access ports according to windows as it shows two different network connection but I only see one on the back) access as of this weekend. It also came installed with Windows XP Proffesional. CPU Pentium IV 1.7ghz RAM 128mb graphics rage 128 pro ultra gl agp (reports as 350mhz and 16 mb memory) hard drive 37gb OS Windows XP Professional EDIT: Looking somemore this is the model of computer http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx240/en/ug/specs.htm

If I knew how magnets worked maybe i could make one. The hockey one is the only one i knew like that. maybe ask them for the source and see if someone could port that to what you need?

Well, if Terraria must remain closed source and Window-only, you might want to look at how they made Wine and ReactOS based off MSWindows, which is perfectly legal. Tons of projects started like this, to make an open-source version of a proprietary program, even making them compatible with the original program.
Would this still apply if you used the decompiled form of their source as a base? Thats the only part I see as being possibly troublesome

Yeah I'll go ask on their forum about whether that would cause me legal issues, but I don't think so as long as I made everything myself and used a non-related title. I would just like to figure out before I start so I don't get sued if I release a version of it.
yeah with SDL you could tweak it to work on Android, Linux, Mac, iPhone, DS, and more. And if it was released open source I'm sure the community already around terraria would edit it and make awesome mods and additions that the devs wouldnt

I've never done anythything like that though I do occasionally make images in gimp or paint.NET. I'm making one for a Tech ed. project right now. I'll post it once me and my partner are done.

Terraria is kind of a 2d version of minecraft that was made in .NET. The source has since been decompiled and posted online. Would it be legal to make a C++/SDL version of the game using the source as a base. I wouldn't be using any of the content from it so that shouldn't be a worry. I would just be using the decompiled source code to make a new verion completely written by me.
I was wanting to do this because the developer has stated they are done developing for it and they refuse to release the source or make it work in wine/mono. I would like to make it work on all platforms I could if possible.

If you found a light C library for physics you could probably use that. I'd think it would be the same since they use a version of gcc to ompile it
