Miscellaneous / Re: Sleeping Problems
« on: July 03, 2009, 11:39:47 am »
...so, my question to you guys is... what should I do to get some sleep?
Or maybe... what the fuck is wrong with me? >_<
Here's what I do (I too have some serious sleeping issues):
- Get a consistent sleep schedule and stick to it, even on weekends.
- Don't do anything that is really stimulating within an hour of going to bed (this includes games and a computer).
- Have some light background noise while you're trying to sleep (like a fan).
- Try not to let your mind wander; focus on your breathing or the noise.
- At first, you'll have to force yourself to get out of bed (this is probably the hardest part).

- If you take something for ADD/ADHD (I don't know if this is relevant to you or not):  most of the medications are stimulants, so make sure you take it early enough in the morning so it's not still active at night.

And what I do whenever I stray too far from this:
- Take a break from some highly stimulating/time-consuming things (if you can), like programming or computer stuff.
- Go to bed a little earlier than what your goal is.
- Take a sleeping pill (Somonex works for me) while you're doing this to force you to get a consistent sleep schedule.  Make sure you don't get addicted though.

Those are the big things that I do, but it might be overkill for you.

Hope this somewhat helps :)

Interesting! Did you do all of that in BASIC?
Or is that a hybrid?
I believe it's hybrid (using Celtic III).

Those title screens are incredible.  How did you get the grayscale without Omnicalc or xLIB?

Unfortunately, thanks to Arcane_Wizard mostly and a couple other UTI comments regarding the use of ASCII graphics
I had forgotten how spammy Arcane was until I looked through the old RL4ever thread.

mhmm.... i might have to check this out...

I remember having serious troubles with something similar with the portal
I just checked and regular members can't use them.

[edit] It should be fixed now.

early edit: Exactly where are these "thumbs"? If they're there, they aren't rendering in Google Chrome. I'm gonna try some other browser to see if the result is the same.
later edit: I'm lost. Screenshot with MS-Paint annotation (or similar) requested.
The upper right hand corner of the post.  They're mostly white so it's sort of hidden.
