I'm sorry to hear that. Do you know what xLIB command it was that threw the error?

Other Calculators / Re: Hacked pics« on: March 12, 2009, 08:06:41 pm »
I made an ASM utility that makes this a bit easier . You can use two of the programs (SETPICS and EXPICS) in Picture Utilities. Setpics will take any pic var and move the data into a list (basically what CustomPics does) with the corresponding name (e.g. Pic1 will be in the list PIC01). Expics will move the data from a list to the pic var. More info on the syntax/how it works is in the readme.
I'm planning on eventually creating a program that will accept a list of pic numbers, create all the intermediary lists and stick them in a group. Then you would just have to transfer the group and an extraction program that would extract the lists from the group, create the corresponding pics and delete the lists. I wasn't really in the mood to do that when I first made them, but anyone is free to bug/harass/remind me about this until I actually do it. [edit] Okay, I just found a little bug in these programs. Apparently, if the pic you're trying to store or list you're trying to extract from doesn't exist your calculator crashes. So... I'll fix it sometime tonight but until then make sure the stuff exists 438

Nice So the new demo will have a bit of the story?
Quote Also, be on the lookout for a new topic related to the game. Why? 11 pages isn't that much to sort through 439

Sorry, I thought you were commenting that the sig itself was wrong. But it's still off-topic. 441

I haven't looked through everything there, but this site looks like a good resource (tutorials plus tons of links to other sites). Also, a lot of the sites I found mentioned Allegro is good for C/C++ game making. (note that I really don't know anything about making games in C++ and these recommendations are just based on looking around the site)

TI Z80 / Re: Chip's Challenge screenies« on: March 04, 2009, 05:43:54 pm »
I am planning on a level editor. It shouldn't be too hard since I already made one for ASCII graphics and I think it'll just need tweaking, but the problem is that right I store the levels in a funky format, which would be hard to automate and it's needed because most levels are around 32x32 and would otherwise be too large to load. I'll probably start working on it when I decide to either tweak my Str->Mat program to something along the lines of decimals, or switch to Celtic III's string tilemapper, in which case I would need to overhaul the whole collision detection (for the fourth time).
That is basically how chips levels were made, but I would imagine that you would make it a pack (omnimaga lvl pack). That's a good idea! (less work for me ) 445

Is it a glitch or something or is it intended to be like that? It's intended to be like that. When it's on you can use [Up]/[Down] to select the level, and when it's off that means it's loading. Everything below that horizontal line will eventually be changed, so for now that little line is sufficient. I need to release a demo soon... 447
