Down has the two dots above the 'I'. There are a few things like this that will need to be perfected of course. =3

Right now concerned with getting us a pokemonz and some battling. :p

The graphics on wabbitemu does seem to be pretty slow, even on firefox... may be it's because of new wabbitemu version? IDK... anyways, I haven't played pokemon for at least few years, so my memory is kind of bad... I didn't know Ash was supposed to be in the middle all the time XD
Gotta play pokemon again! And yeah, it will probably be HUGE, and may be I'll split into 2 parts, one for 8x8 sprites w/o grayscale, especially for TI-83+, and for 83+SE/84+/SE will be 16x16 w/ grayscale, and if they choose to, 8x8 w/o grayscale. And I'm not absolutely sure I'll continue it tho... It was supposed to be warm up for my rusting programming skill

Cleaning out the rust is always a good thing XD

But yeah, good luck with what you decide.

lol one step closer :p

This shows off a better view of invisible boundaries. aka, not just walking into grass sets things off. =]

And no, the game is faster than the screenshot. I don't know why it is showing up that slow. =/

Well.. does the graphics glitch out like that on hardware?

Something else to note, Ash is supposed to stay in the middle of the screen at all times, if you are trying to keep with being like the originals.

Otherwise, so far so good. Just beware, this is quite the undertaking. :p I should know, as I have been working on this for 4 years or better XD

Should there be an option for asm and basic?

We want to make sure we don't over complicate this either. Right now there is no real guarantee this happens, but it is a really good chance of it happening the more we plan and plot this out.

yeah, some moderation is a given to that extent, but the staff won't have to worry about moderating a subforum.

And yes, the people that are tied to the project will have to be able to edit said project listing.

Would be nice, as well, if there were at least 2 ways to list projects: Alphabetically and by most recently updated.

563
no no!! That is where you are wrong. This would actually INCREASE traffic to sites.

See, there would be no form of forums or anything for these projects ON ticalc, that is why one would link to THEIR site, or a place where they discuss their projects.

Basically I would like to have ticalc be a feature point, similar to that of TI-NEWS without the hassle of needing to moderate comments and such, just projects themselves.

Might be a good thing for my site and bring back SOME traffic to my forums, as it is almost all but dead now. 1-3 posts per weeks sucks =/

Not really, because If L_EVEN(1) is just seeing If L_EVEN(1)>0 basically. I just have to remember to be very specific with this stuff from now on. Anyways, going to do a check on calc, see if the game actually sees it. If so, I will most likely post up a screenshot of that part in action. =]

As to these proposed 'ticalc.org needs an overhaul' discussions.. let's actually discuss them!

I was talking with a user on #ti about changing the layout of the projects section. Basically, instead of having their posting set up, it would just be a listing of projects being worked on, seperated by calc type.

I came up with a mock-up of sorts, but.. it obviously needs the help of the community to make it so we all can agree on things and how it looks.

http://tifreakware.net/tifreak8x/misc/ticalcmockup.htm

Yes, I used my own project for this. :p

I was told as long as we could come up with a satisfactory mock-up of what was wanted, then it could possibly be coded in.

Keep in mind. I am not asking them to host a forum for us to discuss projects. The point of this is to get the projects on one central site, linking back to someplace else for the actual discussion of said projects. Having them either link to screenshots, or hosting up to maybe 4 of them, I dunno. I think I would rather they just link to the screenies and save space on their servers.

What else do you think should be added? Anything you think should be taken out?

Bug found. It seems trying to optimize L_EVEN(1)=1 as L_EVEN(1) will not work if you are also trying to do L_EVEN(1)=.5 :p Cause if it is still .5, it is >0, which means that L_EVEN(1) just like that is still true. Now with that fixed, and you not able to leave Oak's lab (going to have to figure out a way to maybe save the current map and such to a save slot when only working with events. If you save and quit, the map resets and you won't get yer pokemon D=

Anyways, that is what I am doing later this evening, making it so you can has your very first pokemans.

Something similar. A lot of events in pokemon were set off by invisible boundaries, which I figured out how to do via lists and such. Getting Prof Oak to drag you back to the lab was easy. Getting it so you don't leave the lab, not so easy. :p And I have 2 vars set formap loading. If it is just a straight number, L=1 and M=1, then it loads the world map, but if it is L=1.1 and M=1.1, then it knows to load interior maps. Then once it looks to see which map it is in, it calls the appropriate program based off that (prgm ZEV1, prgm ZEV2, etc) I create a new prgmZEV# when the last one reaches 6k in size.

TI-BASIC / Re: So... how 'bout that 68k BASIC programming?
« on: February 05, 2010, 11:09:34 pm »
If you want my true opinion on the state of the Ti-89 BASIC (or 68K BASIC in general for that matter), it's dead.

It's pretty sad when I look around and it looks like me and Hiryu are the only ones active, and that's saying something since both of us are one step away from community retirement. It's one of the reason's Ive taken my time on Landel, since no one seems to want it, or even care for that matter. If it came out tomorrow, or 10 years from now, it's going to get the same response.

Hell, I'd bet if we used the Landel engine for it's true purpose (FFVII Directors Edition.) on the 89, It wouldn't even break the Ti-92 FF7 download rate (currently 8999 on ticalc.org) even though the original 89 FF7 broke that in less than 3 months and is currently at 42900.

Hell, I've haven't had a new post on my site for months now, And it was for a site that had JavaScript converters on it. the one before that asked where to buy an 83 keyboard for an Nspire. The Nspire forum is the second busiest on my site, probably because no one else puts a forum up for them. Either no one knows the site exists, are scared to post for some reason, or don't care. My guess is on #3

Honestly, I would be on the 89 right now, porting over something I am sure, if I hadn't taken on pokemon purple. I want to figure out how to do some of the things you did with ffvii and make Age of Darkess for it, it would be awesome.

And I would love to see that game come out, have been waiting on it for ever o.o

Thought I would post up what progress I have now.

Added in the code that should have prevented you from leaving Oak's lab after he drug you there, but it did not. I can force-ably make the program run from the home screen, but I am unable to get it to work from within the game. I will spend a bit more time tomorrow, since it is unlikely I will be cutting firewood this weekend, picking the problem apart.

At this point the problem can only be in one place. And that is in the program that calls the actual events themselves. I most likely just have a wrong value being looked at somewhere.

nah, I use L_ on forums to indicate that it is a list variable. Too lazy to play around with the size tags and such XD
