Well, with a map that small for what you are doing, you could expand it a little bit and use the RPGSK.. It is set up so new programmers can learn how to make games similar to this with ascii graphics.

heh, thanks. ^^

http://calcg.org/cgi-bin/files.cgi?id=277

The file has been updated on calcg.org, and ticalc.org, tho it is still pending there.

So yeah, if anyone would be willing to go through and check it out, see what they think, would be grateful.

So, after having gone through and remade AOD for the 73, 82, 83, and 86, I had decided at one point to update the coding itself on the 83+. And after DJ took a quick shot at trying to play, we determined that the game is really broke, since it gives an error that NO ONE has reported. >[

Anyways, this should now be fixed, and fully updated to using my newest coding style. I have shaved off 358 bytes off of the game. You might say 'Oh, but this is so little, you should not be happy with this'

This is actually the second update this game has seen to its coding, and I had managed to shave off around 600 that last time I think. That data was lost tho.. or it might be written down on paper, I might have to rummage through notes and see.

Anyways, I think it is ready to be re-released again, got to button up a few things in the readme and such before resubmitting to ticalc and calcg, where it will definitely show up almost immediately on calcg. =]

Just thought I would post this for anyone that would be interested.

An empty 83+SE or 84+SE

And by empty I mean completely devoid of ANYTHING.

Umm, would like to note that the sound can be turned on, but not turned back off, as of yet, from what calc told me. Just thought you would like to know ^^

And I am going to try to do a movie of Zelda playing with my MP3 speaker system I have, because it sounds like epic win. Will post that, probably set up a youtube account or something once I get it completed.

ROFL

You think I am that dumb? =p

It actually contained the copy of the french version, but it is safely tucked away on my computer, so yeah, no biggie.

And since there is nothing of consequence on that calc, the memory clear means nothing, since the file is safely tucked away in Flash. =] so was just a quick battery pull and things were ok again.

It is something to just let people know the problem exists.

Besides, I wanted to see what the sound sounded like with a real calc, not an emulator. You can't get 100% accurate test results with a computer emulator, you have to take it to the hardware.

General Calculator Help / Re: Starting game programing
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:04:45 pm »
I don't know about u. But i CANNOT Find any help on the Ti-89. This is a problem for me.. cause im used to Ti-84, and the Ti-89 is slightly different.. and also the controls are different. So Sergepca, if you pick one of these calculators, you most likeley will stick with it (kk not to dis the Ti-89. but my freind got it and because he couldn't find any help with programming, he quit.)   )= but i don't really know if there are lots of forums out there.  So my suggestion. is Ti-84 XD!!! maybe SE if u want. The only benefit it gives is.. Tons more memory, and it's faster... but i doubt anyone will need that amount of memory, but the speed.. u can never have enuf!

SE = Silver Edition.

http://tifreakware.net/tutorials/89/ and the forums are a good place to get help for the 68k, as many of the active users there seem to program exclusively for that line.

Not sure who here still own a working 83+SE, but I threw Zelda up on my calc, turned on the sound with my speakers (pretty good quality all things considered!) and messed around with it. Since I have so many other things to do, I didn't want to waste more time playing, so I tried to quit, and alas, pressing ON just crashes my calc. So yeah, confirmed problem on 83+SE calcs. Not sure it is a proble on the 84+SE calcs or not.

Not really sure if any of the things I have would be good routines to share, but I will look through some of it none the less and post any that I deem worthy.

umm, this means that the next beta of the game is a lot closer than what it would have been had I had to redo all the work. Still have a ton of work to do to it tho.

Yeah.

After that, I am going to transfer some of the data programs over to another calculator to change them to apps, since I should have no need to change anything, so yeah. ^^ We'll see how well this goes.

yes, it seems only 11 programs were actually lost.

2 of those are asm progs
3 of them are already rewritten
The rest, I believe had very little that needed to be done to them in the first place, so yeah, looks like this is an hour's worth of work, once I get back to it.
