The TI-84+SE is pretty decent for on calc programming, especially given ASM libs and the Axe Parser project.

Have you looked at modding it to a tilemap? Or will you just be using pictures.

Axe / Re: [Axe] Mode 7 test« on: December 30, 2012, 05:09:18 pm »
I see you have been asking about fixed-point maths. There really isnt a great deal to mode7 when its broken down, i rekon you could do it even if it isnt super optimized to begin with.
My suggestion is to become more familiar with the hardware at a low level (LCD access, memory structure etc) and also making small test programs for fixed-point operations (to simulate the individual aspects of a mode7 engine) before finally bringing it together. 410

If you make it your goal, it would be a great exercise to increase your ASM skillz.

Is there a possibility of detecting a white pixel early so you can skip the calculations and move to the next? Seems to be a lot of whitespace in that track.

Looks awesome! (There is an artifact at the top of the screen when a sprite is clipped at the bottom of the screen?)

I think you will find that in the calculator world there are a lot of sprites that are *based* off other games. Im not too sure on the legalities however.

TI Z80 / Re: solidFRAME - a 3D engine for the TI-83+ (SE Recommended)« on: December 20, 2012, 05:13:27 pm »
I was thinking of having a few small missions like 'protect a transport' or 'capture enemy ship' or something ... but like i said, i need to finish some complex 3D movement/tracking routines first, hopefully i can knock them over in a timely fashion!
