Which version of Axe are you using?

also, for help, it is probably better to ask in the Axe forum.  ;)

Here is another cool idea that might come to fruition in a few years...
http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?board=118.0
If these projects get finished then that is something that could provide the community with revenue.
That's supposed to keep going this summer.  ;)
although we'll need donation to start up anyway.  :P
actually, paying for this year or any year isn't the problem, its really guaranteeing we have a steady supply of money to keep going...

Agreed, I doubt the one post users have anything to do with it, they probably joined because of increasing popularity.  We should just ban trolls and ignore them other wise.  ;)

I agree.
* Qwerty.55 glares at whoever gave him respect for the previous post because they proved him wrong :P
* yunhua98 tries to make Qwerty stop glaring at him

btw, I was agreeing with you, so I'm not sure why you're agreeing again.  :P

After the dramatic events of the past few days, I went to the member list page (Misc -> Member List). And kind of analysed it by sorting it in several ways. I was surprised when i scrolled alphabetically that there were many users with 0 posts. So I pressed sort and what came up was at least 440 members had never posted! (it was all 0s until page 5, then 1s and 2s). This might be ok, but if you consider the trolling events going on and half of our members not even posting (600 had 5 or less posts), kind of questions the quality of our members (may registered this year and 2nd half of last year). Do they program? Do they know about calcs? And for the ones that do post (and are fairly new members), are they posting the stuff that we have seen over the past few months?

Sorry if i am taking this too critically, but this could be a relationship between the trolling and the members or something.

I know I'm going to some negative respect for this, but I'll say it anyway...

That's not the relation. The only relation between the non-posting members and the members who have trolled is where they came from. Let's not forget where these fora are located: the Internet. Trolling is an inevitable fact of life for sites on the Internet. Let's admit that and move on. From what I've seen, the reactions to the trolling have caused far more drama here than the trolling itself.

As for what those members do or don't know, frankly I neither know or care whether or not they own a calc. They are members of Omnimaga who have not been shown to have any negative impact on the community (some exceptions aside). In spite of that, they're still being ostracized? While Omnimaga might be primarily a calculator community, it is not exclusively so. Lest anyone forget, there are boards for both computer programming as well as music. So, the issue of whether they program or own calcs is in my eyes rather disrespectful to people who have done no wrong and to the community as a whole. Furthermore, I think by attempting to blame any one group for the current state of Omnimaga (trolls aside, because they're convenient scapegoats for everything) one actually hurts the situation. Is any one group solely to blame? Trolls caused an initial disturbance, but it was the members of Omnimaga who reacted to it. Trolls will always be there. Such is life on the Internet. It's how we react to it that determines whether they influence us negatively or not.

Agreed, I doubt the one post users have anything to do with it, they probably joined because of increasing popularity.  We should just ban trolls and ignore them other wise.  ;)

If you look around the old portions of this forum, you'll notice a user named allynfolksjr  Thats Nikky, he's pretty much a troll who doesn't like Omni.

I didn't mean removing the current channels, I just thought maybe have another channel.  Although that may be too many channels.
The two sites don't have to merge, I was just thinking from time to time, they should do something to together.  And if its a contest, promote that if anyone wins, its not a victory for the site, but for the community as a whole in an effort to bring it closer together.

At the time I think that the channel is still unreachable, but when restrictions are dropped, you can access it by connecting to a EFnet server through either a online or downloaded client such as mIRC or XChat and then joining the channel #omnimaga with the /join command.

I meant now.  ;)  The logs show that Su-Chan is in there ATM, so I think you can get in, I just don't know if thats true.  :P

We need some unity.  We should try to have closer ties between Omnimaga and Cemetech.  While heartless trolls we can ignore, it's really people you know and like bashing you that ends up doing more damage.  And less inter-community fighting isn't the only benefit, if every major TI site worked together, there would be more communication and end products.  What's the point of the two biggest TI sites feeling competitive every time something happens?  I'm not pointing fingers at anybody; in fact, most people don't feel as if they must out do the other side, but I still believe that Omnimaga and Cemetech should work together on more things, or maybe have a joint contest/IRC channel/etc.  This would promote less inter-commmunity fighting, and may resolve current issues and prevent them from happening again.  ;)

I hope I didn't insult anyone by this, but does anyone else agree?

I like anti-riot squad and up to vote, but then again, if someone were devoiced for no apparent reason, it would obviously be a troll and we could just voice him again.

speaking of which, how exactly do we get in #omnimaga?
