I re-read this tutorial to learn more, and I noticed that there's something I can't understand - the sign extension that is performed when moving a 8-bit or 16-bit value to a register. How does it work?
As best as I can remember sign exentension means that F's are placed in front of the data. So for example if you load the byte $D5 into R0 for example. R0 will then read $FFFFFFD5.

@Kristaba, how did you set up the icons so that they would not interfere with the checksum. Also i think we can get a faster fps if we write something similar to ionfastcopy for the Prizm.

Are there any estimates on what the resolution will be or is it the same as the original nspire. Also is this 16 bit or 24 bit color

I believe now is a good time to deliver my inauguration speech.
[deep commanding voice] One half score years ago the founders of Omnimaga founded Omnimaga. Throughout the years the TI community has faced rough times with constantly changing boards and being completely wiped out in 2008. We have recovered from our struggles to become stronger than we ever before. Now you come to me in a time when we have been plagued by trolls and spam. At the time of this decision I was at UCSB attending a model UN conference honing my leadership skills. With my skill and quick wit I will ensure that Omnimaga always remains clean and productive, safe from the harming effects of spam and trolling. Now I ask all of you to go forth and and make Omnimaga a better place. [/deep commanding voice]

I do suggest that the any apps made for the developers edition be compatible with the standard edition because that edition will be the most used. And as a note to developers: try to make games compatible with both the touchscreen and the keypad. Also one thing I will miss is the hacking experience. I've already had so much fun (and frustration ) with hacking the Prizm. @uberspire do you think you could add some hidden checksums for me. [j/k]

Does this mean no more 84+ emulator anymore. Not that TI would make a good emulator for a color screen anyways.

I still think the CX will be the same as the regular Nspire. Just some hardware might be different. But I'm sure games could be ported between both calcs aside from the color. If I was you I wouldn't discourage yourself with the new calc, it would suck if you quitted Prizm dev just because of the new calc.
I agree. There are already many nspire developers at the time, but even though Casio developers have received a recent upsurge we are still a small community especially in SH3 programmers. The best thing for me to do now is to continue to contribute to Prizmsuite so that the Prizm is easier to code for.

My free time is getting all messed up with these new calcs. First the Prizm came out and I started taking on Prizm projects, now focusing on an emulator. Then I heard about project paradise and because uberspire only lives two miles away from me I kinda have to be a developer. Now I want to code for the CX, but I still have all my old 83+ projects still too.

z80man, I hate to say it, but any games that are likely to be finished before the new calculator is released aren't likely to be advanced enough for that. The best hope is to make the Prizm more programmable than the Nspire, most likely through a powerful on-calc language.
introducing BATTLE-AXE (for Prizm), the greatest programming language ever with an easy to learn syntax. example code below. epic first person shooter; //produces an epic first person shooter when compiled

It is nearly impossible for me to start a fan war of any sort because I support all calc brands such as TI, Casio, HP, and uberspire's new calc line. I also program in almost every major calc language such as z80 asm, axe, TI BASIC, Casio BASIC, C, C++, and SH3 asm. But just to be safe I should probably buy an nspire because I do not code for those yet. Especially now because I don't want a CX vs. Prizm war to ever start here.

I knew it was inevitable that TI would come up with a response to the Prizm, but I didn't think it would be this short. My concern though is that some of the new Casio programmers might switch over to the Nspire CX because now it might be fully open to C development faster than the Prizm. What I was hoping for was that a couple of good games could be released for the Prizm before the CX came out in order to protect a struggling Casio community.
