Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / TI-30xs II programming« on: February 09, 2011, 01:24:03 am »
Next year when I take physics i'll have to use a Ti-30 . and I do not want to use an unprogrammable calc. I happen to already own a TI-30xs II calc. In a way it is similar to the TI 83+. The screen dimensions are 32x96 (half size) and the text chars are the same. But is has no linkport and a very limited OS. My idea was what if I did some hardware modifications to get the calc to accept machine code. And does anyone know how the TI-80 got hacked because that could provide some valuable insight.

Teachers always get excited about the wrong stuff. Last year my math teacher made a big deal when OS 2.53 came out, but knew nothing of the Axe Parser. Whatever TI planned, either we don't care or it will just make our lives worst.

Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Re: [Idea] Nethack for nSpire« on: February 08, 2011, 11:02:09 pm »
There are so many good nspire ideas, but just not enough people to code everything. Just like how there are hundreds of great pontential games to still be made for the 83+. but anyways looks great. I don't have an nspire either,(I'm focusing on Prizm dev work now) but there are plently of people around here that would love to make this.

DJ is more like a nick for a nick "wait is that even possible" But even DJ_O seems a little short. Also to direct more PM's and emails to other admins, maybe other admins should add "Omnimaga" to their nick. "unserious and serious"

Casio Calculators / Re: Casio Prizm documentation« on: February 08, 2011, 10:25:16 pm »
The problem with writing add ins right now is size constraints. So you have to manipulate the program to fit one of three pre defined checksums. This can casue an issue for programs that are between the size of two apps causing you to try to decrease or increase the value of many bytes. Also the current method to affect the checksum of the app is to modify the image data, meaning it is difficult to import your own images.

If it's not OS storage space a program could be written to add this as user space.

Other Calculators / Re: TI-Cares response to lack of ASM support & limited BASIC programming [MERGED THREADS]« on: February 05, 2011, 11:32:29 pm »
I'm sure TI would do whatever teachers ask them to. What if we asked many of our own teachers to ask TI to add better programming utilities to their calculators for "educational purposes". That might convince them to value programming more. We could even have teachers tell TI they want to teach their students programming skills.

It's funny when they offer to pay you money for your games when they're avaible off ticalc for free
