Miscellaneous / Re: Final day on #omnimaga
« on: March 30, 2010, 07:22:36 pm »
I just noticed Hot Dog edit: are you sure Ztrumpet will even be allowed again today, though? (meaning, to browse Omni at all). My worry is if his parents are very narrow-minded about technology and despite their kids knowing a lot about it, will not get in their head that Internet Explorer just plain sucks when it comes to virus protection and that to get viruses they have to really not be careful, such as downloading torrents and browsing warez/porn sites or not being careful to scams.

Omnimaga is just another calculator site like United-TI and TIBD, we monitor files for their content and if I got infected elsewhere, I would quit uploading anything to Omnimaga altogether until I cleaned my PC.

That said, Omni or not, I seriously hope Ztrumpet did not lose his entire calc projects... I hope he back them up to his comp asap once repaired if he didn't.

I'M still worried, though, since the way his parents seemed to talk, I may not be able to talk to Ztrumpet again until he moves out of home and he's one close online friend
It's okay, as they are pretty understanding, just not completely.  They actually think any site that I go to is where viruses come from, so me getting on Omnimaga is no different than UTI or TIBD. :)  He just thinks that: Calculator programmers may know how to create computer viruses and would put them on calc forums to laugh at people.  =\  That's their logic... I don't believe it though. :)

I'm back on now.  Our computer is working again, and I'm allowed to check more than email. :)

My calc it backed up on my flash drive mostly, so I should probably back it up... ;D  I also have all my project progress on my calcs, be it in group or program form. :)

Thanks for relaying the message Hot Dog! :D

Thanks DJ.  You're someone I respect immensely and consider a friend (well, online friend) too, so that means a lot! ;D

I agree with your decision to avoid #omnimaga, but I await your return.  I really look forward to when you're on again! ;D

I think it's a good idea.  (I just doubt if I'd post in that forum.)  It could help with all the non-English native speakers. :)

DJ, speaking of those games, when will we get Illusiat 2004 in English?  I can't wait to play Illusiat 4! ;D

Wow, "cubes" with more than three dimensions sound awesome!  :D How do they work?

:) I can't solve them...
There's also a lot of cool patterns you can make.  Its fairly easy to make the cube checkered with only 3 turns and you can make it have dots in only 4 turns from the solved position.  You can also have multiple cubes in the same cube and bands of color in a spiral.
I can make those patterns from a solved one, though. :P

EDIT: EEEMS! What did you do??? She is in the lobsters membergroup now :O
I laughed so hard when I read this! ;D

Welcome here Amy!  I've seen you're name too-many-times-to-count when I look at Eeems' profile page, so it's pretty cool that you're here.  It's awesome that you want to understand Eeems' programming/Omnimaga related stuff.   Welcome here!  :D

Here are some regular (non Special Edition) Omnimaga peanuts to add to your collection! ^-^

Enjoy your time at Omnimaga and enjoy Eeems! ;D

Another feature idea, after Quigibo mentionned me might compress his title screen:  Compressed sprites routine

When compiling, you could have sprites be compressed and use a different sprite display routine to show them. It would prbly be slower but people could choose whether if they want to use compressed sprites or regular ones. I wonder if it would be hard to implement, though...
Sprites are already compressed at an 8:1 compression ratio (double the Hex, as they are stored in token-ized binary), so I doubt if they could get smaller.  However, if they could it's a really cool idea! :D

I really like Galandros' idea!  How much faster would that be, and how would it affect the code (bigger/smaller) if you end up doing it? ;D

The IS and DS commands look really cool!   Awesome idea! :D

I like the filled circle, circle, and box idea.  I think that would look the best. :)

I like how this sounds!  Hopefully someone will make this sometime. ;D
