TI-BASIC / Re: Vertical Text Sprites
« on: February 03, 2010, 04:55:09 pm »
It's my one of favorite games because it's so hard.  DJ, there is a way, but it takes about 30 minutes to figure out (or did for me).  I was stuck on the 7th ( of 8 ) level for 2-3 months before I beat it.  The whole game took me about 6 months. ;D

Builderboy, you loved that puzzle (the key one) so much it's in Trapped. O0

What does it do?  I know it erases your progress from the Main Menu.  What's it do when paused?

You will be able to poll the [on] key as a direct key input though, so you can always manually check if it needs to exit.
You're not understanding the Why.  The use of Breaking a program allows the programer to exit the code from anywhere, not just where the code checks for it.  Could you have this in there as an option please?  The reason it helps is because basic programmers test on calc, vs using an emulator.  I think it's possible, as the TiOS does it.  Could you backup the Ram into xRam and then rewrite if the user presses On?  Mabey you could use the token ">Dec"  to serve as "Debug (On breaks) Mode On"?
Mostly people that program On calc want security. :)  In my opinion that is the worst thing about Asm, or any program that Blocks On.  Thanks! :D

Fantatic!  This is great!  I love the new mode. When does it change how many Crate-Types there are?  Every 400?

This is a great game! :D

Some of the Draw commands reset the Y variable.  It's a really wierd thing, but blame Ti. :P
Good luck!

The 83+se is the only calc I have with full xRam, if that's an issue.

I love this game!  I plaied all difficulties, with between 600 and 900 on the hardest three.  I plaied easy for over 30 minutes (cause I could) and got over 15000 before letting it fill up on purpose.  I found two bugs:
1: Easy is spelled wrong on the Highscore table.
2: In the main menu, when you chose the difficulty and press Left on Easy, it Errors.  This is because you have a not(A where it should be a not(Ans. :)

Awesome job!  I can't wait for a final release with numbers up to 9! ;D
