TI-BASIC / Re: Any reliable way to tell if a numbe is an integer in BASIC?« on: November 17, 2009, 06:42:26 pm »
The fpart glitch isn't limited to just the cube root. It is caused by the home screen rounding the number when it displays it or by rounding errors due to the calc's floating point nature.

I've had it by repeatedly adding 1/3. It took me an hour to find the error in my code.
To see a number to its full precision, use that variable in the solver. This is a really nice thread. 5722

Thanks. As to typing it directly, I'd estimate 25,000 perfect keystrokes. Good luck.
I uploaded it to Ticalc today. Let's see how long it takes them to put it up there. 5723

Yeah, what about the exact identical code? Also, could you compare the 81 to an 84+se?
What song is that in the background? 5726

lol! That's very nice!
How is the 81 so fast? 5728
Humour and Jokes / Re: You thought your TI-84+ manual was small and bad? Think again« on: November 16, 2009, 03:31:25 pm »
I just changed my batteries...
Btw, I kinda like the Casio FX-9860G in some ways, though. The equivalent on Output( on it, despite not word-wrapping like on TI, is much faster than on the 83+. If you run Kucalc's add-on that sets the CPU speed to maximum (by default, the calc runs at around 10-12 MHz I think, instead of close to 16), the Output function gets so incredibly fast that even when displaying 3 lines of text with 3 output functions through a loop, I got close-to-flickerless grayscaleThat's pretty neat. What other interesting things are out there? 5729

It's good "public awareness", but I'm getting tired of being called a hacker instead of a programmer.
