[code=
« on: November 28, 2012, 01:10:39 am »
I wanted to know what is up with code tag.  For me, whenever someone writes
Code: [Select]
[code=XXXXX] it always just shows as
Code: [Select]
Array  But other people say it actually displays correctly for them still.  So do other people have this problem, or am I just crazy? (Also, if i'm not, why would it work for some people but not others?)  (And what's the problem?  because it looks like a bug really)[/code]

What is it supposed to do? I didn't even know we could use extra arguments in CODE tags ???

People use it to list the code type.  I don't know if it's supposed to show that at the top or something, and I don't know if it's ever worked, but this has been bugging me lately with the influx of people using the code tag that way =P

it's always been like that for me, so i have to hit modify just to see what they're trying to say :P
i'm still having the numbers on the left not lining up with things issue as well. (all the numbers are below the lines they are supposed to be referring to).

EDIT: it appears that the code lines sometimes line up and sometimes don't. see below

see this: http://ourl.ca/13758/258535

I said the bug was fixed later n in the thread but i dont think it is.

Code: [Select]
this
makes the code numbering break

Code: [Select]
so does this
Code: [Select]
this does not

This happens for me as well (firefox). I usually end up editing out the "=" of the person's post so that it displays properly on all browsers.

I think that in the previous code boxes (the ones that didn't show the line numbering and the select/copy tags), it was shown at the top.

And the line numbers for the code also don't always show correctely for me (I use chrome).
My projects
 - The Lost Survivors (Unreal Engine) ACTIVE [GameCommandoSquad main project]
 - Oxo, with single-calc multiplayer and AI (axe) RELEASED (screenshot) (topic)
 - An android version of oxo (java)  ACTIVE
 - A 3D collision detection library (axe) RELEASED! (topic)(screenshot)(more recent screenshot)(screenshot of it being used in a tilemapper)
Spoiler For inactive:
- A first person shooter with a polygon-based 3d engine. (z80, will probably be recoded in axe using GLib) ON HOLD (screenshot)
 - A java MORPG. (pc) DEEP COMA(read more)(screenshot)
 - a minecraft game in axe DEAD (source code available)
 - a 3D racing game (axe) ON HOLD (outdated screenshot of asm version)

You can use the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags instead of code brackets if you need to print bbc tags.

Example: [url]http://www.google.com[/url] vs http://www.google.com
∂²Ψ    -(2m(V(x)-E)Ψ
---  = -------------
∂x²        ℏ²Ψ
