Hi,
I was wondering if the new Omnimaga rules allowed members to make topics to advertise stuff that they are putting on sale, such as music they made and also calcs for sale or even OTcalc-like projects? I am asking, because while the new Omnimaga rules have nothing about advertising, the old rules did. I am planning to sell 10 of my songs as an album but before posting a topic on the release day, I wanted to make sure that it's fine, in case. Juju and Eeems said they're fine with it, but I don't know about the other admins. Otherwise I'll just stick to my signature.

I would assume as long as it wasn't spammy. IE, you don't advertise with flashing smilies etc. etc.
-
I don't have a problem with it, and as long as our hosting provider allows it I think it's fine.
Good luck with sales!

Ah ok. I guess it would be fine if his host allows the usage of hosting account to sell stuff, although maybe they won't care since it's not Netham45 nor the staff of the site (at least not current staff) that sell stuff.
I was wondering since after all, we ban bots/members that advertise lobster recipes, casino ads and webwebsites. :P

You ban members that post lobster recipies?

I think doing it this way is okay because you're a part of the site while they are invaders, coming for the sole purpose of advertising something not related to the site in any way.

I see no problem at all about selling stuff related to Omnimaga, projects, calcs and music.
We might even make a news about your album on release date :)

Ah ok I see now. I think it's not really respectful when somebody registers on a website (or sends someone to register on a website) only to advertise his paid products or even website without permission. In the past, especially on the old Omnimaga board, I remember some people joined just to get new members on their Invisionfree board or to advertise their own IRC network. Also on TIMGUL website, sometimes members register to advertise their music, but they only ever make one single post, where they tell everyone to visit their home page or Soundcloud for future music upload, and they won't do the effort to come back. I remember another music site required a minimum post count to advertise.
Of course, though, projects and stuff are fine, though.

This better not be for selling cd's... I mean, it would cost a LOT of money for s/h and you could just download it for free... I only thought of this from Spyro told me about the cd selling idea.

Some people begged me to make CDs for sale actually, but I prefer to stick to digital download for now.
