eMail notifications
« on: January 27, 2014, 11:27:27 am »
I set up my gMail to forward anything from Omnimaga to my phone (as a text, its not a smart phone) because my computer is slow so I hate checking my eMail.
Does anyone mind if the notification emails were shortened? They keep getting split into several texts on my phone.

The email functionality is built into SMF and we are not going to go in an change things right now. The emails also currently contain the total information they need, including a link to the reply, a link to unsubscribe and the text in the reply.
What you could do if you don't like how it looks is set up an account on IFTTT.com and have it handle the forwarding. You can control the contents of the text with that to only receive the subject line.

That's a nice feature, but do I have to change my email address?

I am personally fine with how they are right now, except last week when for unknown reasons, all my notifications options got changed by themselves, so I ended up with a massive wall of reply notification spam in my Gmail inbox, even if I had notifications disabled. I disabled them again, yet it still happened. However, after trying to disable them a second time, it finally worked. O.O

I actually reported that a few days ago, but I wasn't sure if anyone ran into this.

Ah, okay.
You can have it forward to whatever email you want.

That's a really nice feature. I turned it on but it's not working yet... But it says it takes 15 minutes so I'm not too concerned. Thank you!
