I mean, damn, thats a lot of spam bots, just browsing through the topics. You'd think Omnimaga was the biggest forum out there or somthing

meh indeed. We need more user validation when registering.
The only upside is that it increases my post count when I reply to a bot posting and closing the thread

yeah thats getting worse and worse, and its not Omnimaga only, I would say on MaxCoderz and some other forums it's much more worse. Wait until we are known more in other website or search engines
I would disable new registration completly but i think it will scare new users who want to post immediately away. Same goes for admin validation, imagine if the admins are away for a few days the new member will have to wait that long before having his account validated.
I will increase flood control to 15 secs though, it should reduce the chances of getting a multi poster spambot (which post several times or create more than one topic)

heck, spam bots even invaded my blog. it took me 30mins to clean out all the rubbish.
Now I added user validation via a picture showing distorted letters. I hope that will keep them at bay.

well remember invisionfree wont let me modify the forum code so I could install your mod on mine. Revsoft is hosted by rezek so he can do anything he want with the forum source. On Invisionfree i cant

ouch, and on top of that they have email validation activated, imagine if they didnt. Here I see like 10 spambots in the validating section sometimes, altough they are deleted after 30 days if not validated
btw this is the validating list, I may soon delete all spambot accounts on the forums cuz the banned member list has like a dozen of them now
