I like this. :D I wonder though if it wouldn't be a better idea to double the framerate?
Like this?

Doubled the framerate. It does look better and it doesn't take so long to end.

One option is to make a new popular calculator game, the next nDoom.
Unfortunately with the increased popularity, we will attract many trolls.

Another approach is to try to bring in hardware enthusiasts from the maker movement.  We might try to encourage modding or creating devices for the link port.  (I don't know how well that would go with the standardized test folk.)

I made some peripherals for the 84+, but I work on another project now which is not calculator related.
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

I would have figured the gba emulator was that

Also, completely unrelated to the above post, I was answering some calculator questions on yahoo answers and came across a bad idea that sounded cool at the moment
What if there was an omnimaga yahoo account, and any member could answer questions
To my knowledge there are four accounts that answer a lot of calculator questions
Rhombicuboctahedron—he gives really good answers :)
TI ET—Texas Instruments one, helpful sometimes, but boring, and, of course, never ndless related
Empire539—He gives really good ti 83/84 answers
Mickaël N—Same old visit tibank answers

This would probably never work, and might be a waste of time, but since we were discussing tutorial videos on YouTube, and since six heads are better than one, and because the answers may be so good that they click on the little omnimaga user name and find a link to this website, and because two of the four users above are merely for their own benefit so why not add a third, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
This forum can answer any thing better that yahoo can, but not everyone likes to click on links to other websites asking them to ask it there.
And I since all the downloads are easier to find on tiplanet, I only ever link to there, so I might actually be dropping visitors to this site.

I'm in favor of a new youtube channel that way we can start the fanbase from scratch. While people from omni will undoubtedly know about it, outsiders might look and see that the channel not only has a lot of subscribers but views as well and therefore would subscribe as well. I also think that we should all work on a large project collab and post stuff like project updates on that channel. that way there will be activity on both youtube and here when people want to find out more about projects. Calc game reviews are also a good idea. Ticalc.org has a lot of games and that's where people from here and cemetech and other communities post to gain more downloads from the comunity in general.  But, however we also need to make use of our own archives therefore more people will come here to download games instead.

If that happens, though, there would need to make sure to be ways so that most Omni users who see this topic subscribe. Also I doubt it would be a good move to re-upload every old video because they will never get the amount of views they had when they were initially posted. But it would definitively work if there were a bunch of calc reviews and if people in charge were commited to keep it alive.

And yeah another move would be that most Omni users post links to their files (or upload them directly) in the Omni downloads section. Gbc4nspire has like 5000 downloads there, after all. Having the files attached in posts just won't cut it, because those topics get buried underground when new ones are posted.

Well for the trolls, I guess staff can just temporarily bring back the nDoom policy during that activity rush and the months at risk (Late Fall, Early June and mid-Summer). Basically temporarily replace official warnings with temporary bans and have criticism of forum/IRC moderation be a bannable offense. Most of the time when a zergtroll rush occurs, though, it's people from (an)other calc site(s) bickering about how we handle it who causes the largest amount of damage than the rush itself, though.

EDIT: Wait... did I really say zerg instead of troll? O.O

Are we going to end up making a Youtube channel after all?

I'm working on it right now. I'll mainly do game and utility reviews, probably ones that are being worked on a lot/are quite popular.

What is the channel name so that we can subscribe?

Quick question, will we send you the videos to upload to the channel or how is that going to work?

It would be nice if at one point some older games reviews (mainly Omnimaga's) were done as well.

As for sending videos would it be some sort of team channel like there was for Music 2000 once? I remember that multiple people had the password, but that can be risky if too many people who are very new got access.

Well, what could happen would be that you have a few “administrators” with the password, maybe start out with _Nicco_ and Spyro543 uploading whatever videos they find necessary, and then if someone else makes a review they want on it, then they email it to one of them and it gets posted, and if you start sending more and would like to have a password and they trust you, then they give it to you.
However, what types of videos would it have? Only calc tutorials and showcases, or music too, or random calc videos? Of course, the administrators could decide that.
