Keep in mind spam posts don't count, but honestly when I was only 100 posts in I didn't know the community well enough to know about anything in 'Private Matters' anyway.

Besides, it's much easier just to stay on IRC. That's where pretty much everything in the board is first discussed.

Yeah it might be a bit problematic for those who just love to boast about their post counts and not necessarily contribute positively. However most people who do that get banned or suspended beforehand anyway.

PMing might be a better solution.

Tangrs has 101 posts, so until recently he wouldn’t have been able to pass the 100 post requirement, but I think he should be allowed to post videos because he has done a lot.
I have more posts than him, and thus would be able to pass the 100 post requirement, but I haven’t done very much on this forum, and that doesn’t seem right that I would get to upload and not he.

Some very new members might have good videos, but they wouldn’t be able to get them on the channel. Of course, in Introduce Yourself!, most new members just say that they would like to program this or build this or work on this, but if the channel got relatively popular, some new ones might say that they would like to make videos. While spammers would say this, others might mean it.

Ideally, it would be nice if every good calculator video could get on this channel.

I have no idea how difficult this is to program on a server, but what if we had a password for the server. Then Ruler501 and admins added members that PM them based on their standing and such, so that way you don’t get spammers, and good members with few posts can get their videos up.
There would be two options for allowing members that we are unsure of. If they are not accepted, they could PM them again with a link to their channel with one of their good videos, then allow them. If they upload a troll video, you know who they are and report them to administrators.
Or, allow most members with a small minimum, like 40 posts or something, maybe less, maybe more. If they upload a troll video, you know who they are and report them to administrators.

Of course, that idea is only if they can get a password system.

In short: The amount of posts is not really a measure for how much you did for the community. I think only the people with their own series within the channel should be able to upload. People that can provide content on a regular basis.
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

Right now anyone can upload a video for admins(who will need to get the password from me for pulling the videos) to approve. I don't think the problem is with people not being able to upload but rather who runs the channel.
I currently don't do much, but I am a developer for a game you should totally try out called AssaultCube Reloaded download here https://assaultcuber.codeplex.com/

We could have anybody who would like to administrate say so, and then vote for like 4 to have the password.

I think thats reasonable. I also think omni admins should have the password if its an official channel.

We need an admin to come over here and tell us that is can be called official

Also, I think the channel administrators should approve/reject the videos, as well as add the intro, and an endcard, and then upload them to YouTube.
Unless, everybody downloaded the intro and used an endcard, then the admins would have a much easier job

Eeems said that he would ask the other admins and expect a decision within a week. That was a couple weeks ago. Juju said the admins run on Valve time :P

I think it should be the person making the videos job to make things acceptable to channel standards. If that includes adding an intro and endcard then they should do it themselves. There is no point in giving the admins more work to do.

I agree, but I just didn’t want five different types of endcards. But first we need to get a few videos uploaded and then we can upload an endcard template here.

I think for now the channel should remain unnoficial until Omni admins have their say on the matter, then if they give you permission, you can make it official. After all, it doesn't matter if it isn't since all you have to do is append the word "Unnoficial" in the channel name.

Let's say that the admins, for some reasons, takes 6 months before giving you permission. Will you halt the OmnimagaTV project for 6 months because of that?

Just upload video's, but set them to private so that the editor can check them before making them public.

That actually sounds like a good idea.

Can you see unlisted videos (as in, not in the search, but can be accessed via URL) in someone's profile?
