Site slow again?
« on: February 20, 2013, 11:56:26 pm »
Anybody has troubles loading pages tonight? I thought this was due to slow CloudFlare caching but then I saw the execution time at bottom of pages be pretty high, which means it's on Amazon side (since I think that CloudFlare only cache copies of the site pages, not the server-side code nor the database).

I wonder if something on the server might be causing troubles (eg something freezing, too much RAM usage or higher than normal traffic) and if it might be worth looking into in case it persists? ???

Also the post notifying bot died

It's slow for me too, but as I'm on Tapatalk and spotty hotel WiFi, other people would be a better reference...
"Eris" (Ndless 3.1)
"Keto" (Ndless 3.1)
"Luna" (AMS 3.10, HW4)
"Aurora" (2.55MP)

Cloudflare caching would not cause slowdown at all. If anything it increases the speed of page loading.
I just checked the server, there is no unusual load or anything on it.

I thought that the post notifier wasn't on omni's servers anymore?

It's fine again now, but I think I might have found why: There was an unusually high amount of page views on the forums a few days ago (not sure if it has to do with Cemetech getting Slashdotted, since we didn't get an huge guests increase)

Chemetech got slashdotted? O.O

Was that because of the 84pcse?
