Some new bugs since the upgrade
« on: May 02, 2012, 02:53:13 am »
1) Moved topic redirects now give wrong URLs. Eg http:///index.php?topic=6666 or something like that

2) Logs at http://omnom.omnimaga.org/irc/efnet/?channel=omnimaga#bottom are all scrambled rather than being in date order.

3) Search doesn't return every result. For example, from the site root (board index or portal, where search finds stuff in every board by default) the word ponies matched no results. (which is impossible considering the MLP stuff on here)

Somehow I believe he removed most of its limits (by mistake?). I guess that could possibly explain why it was so active one night.

O.o I thought the limit was 100 still XD

I notice the search function is very slow, although that might be because I'm on a slow connection atm.

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

Also, the URLs embedded in e-mail notifications for topic updates are missing the leading "http://www.omnimaga.org".

I'm pretty sure that's just a random example. The bug is that http://www.omnimaga.org seems to be missing from a lot of places (I was about to report it for email notifications, as Lionel pointed out already).

I think dot.tk took it down again for TOS violations (it's against their rules to use their domain names for an URL shorterner, which is stupid, but I guess that's their trade-off for providing domain names for free. We get what we pay for, I guess x.x)

I think Omniurk.tk should probably be replaced by a different, paid domain, or even something like omnimaga.org/i/<topicid>/<postid>

idk if this is necessarily a bug or just an issue on my end, but as far as the arcades goes (yea i know, minor issue, but still something that should be brought up, lol) whenever i play a game, and finish it, the site doesn't want to save my score because it thinks I'm "cheating"... although idk how i would be able to do that in the first place, lol.  Browser I'm using is Pale Moon (A.K.A. Firefox Lite), so idk if the games are more "Internet Explorer Friendly"

Hmm it could be that you are not using a conventional browser, but I could be wrong. It could possibly be cookie settings or arcade bugs (the arcade system has been discontinued by its author 2 years ago by the way) too, since I know when I play games in a pop up, I can't save any score.

Of course it could also be due to the recent server move. Let me try in Opera 11.64

EDIT It works fine in Opera it seems. It might be a problem on Firefox Lite's end or cookie issues. Of course maybe the arcade was made to recognize any browser other than standard IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc, as cheating engine or something. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Chrome had issues if that was the case, since I don't think it existed or was widely known when the arcade was last updated (February 2009).

Oh so I'm not the only one having some problems with the saving highscores in the arcade. I still haven't tried resetting cache and cookies yet.
