I think that relative jumps were included in Grammer because jumping to a label requires searching the entire program for the label at run-time, which can take lots of time. However, jumps to labels in Axe will always be filled in at compile-time and will always be very speedy, so relative jumps aren't necessary for speed purposes. I suggest that you put a label where you want to jump to and Goto the label like a normal jump.

I think that it should have an option to turn on/off the little loading bar at the bottom.
As nice as it is, it just takes a lot more time to compile. :-\

Request:
Option to turn off the progress bar and just show percentages like in old versions for faster compiling, or alternatively have it be off by default for zoomed compiles
Its essentially the same speed, it takes almost the same amount of time to display the percentage bar as it did just displaying the percent.  However, this can be sped up by maybe 15% if I display nothing at all, but that's a bad experience for the end user since they feel like it freezes.  It wouldn't be that much faster anyway, its not like its double the speed or anything.
The bar itself shouldn't make that big of a difference, it's probably something in the compiler itself.

TBO_Yeong if you dont't have enough memory to load the entire appvar, an alternative is to read the appvar from archive directly using Y0-Y9 and just copying what you want into free ram.

I believe what he means is including only part of OS files at compile-time.

Edit: I guess I should ask though, can anyone imagine a situation in which this would be useful? Because I'm having trouble doing so, and taking up application space for a feature that's not going to be useful to most people isn't the best idea.

This is more for the parser, but it would be nice if it had an "auto-run" option for streamlined testing/development.

zStart recently added this. Just edit the program and press ON+Trace for normal compile, run, and return to program editor, or ON+Zoom to zoom compile, run, and return to program editor.

Sorry for being off-topic, but  I just noticed that this topic has reached 3000 replies. O.O (almost half of the infamous number thread in the spam section)

Congrats Quigibo for giving the 8x community another kickstart in the past 2 years. :d

It's over 9000! Over three.

Still, that definitely makes it the most popular topic here (except that ridiculous "Count to 8000" thread from the old forum). Axe has done so much for us :D

Thanks guys!  I know my activity here has been pretty low over the last few weeks, I've been really busy with interviews and job search related tasks for after graduation.  But despite this, I've slowly added about 10 new bug fixes and features over the last month so I'm almost ready for another release.  I'll be more active once I decide on a job offer in a few days :)  Boy, this is such a difficult and important decision, more so than colleges.

Request: ability to not show warning about program size exceeding the limit.
Or have it show on the second pass?

It should only display the warning after the 2nd pass has finished.  Are you saying that its been showing on a different pass?
