Backups
« on: September 21, 2010, 07:49:19 pm »
I just updated my version of Axe to 0.4.4, and I noticed the Backup feature saves to an appvar. I don't have Calcsys, so here's my question: Is the appvar exactly the same as the source program, or does it have some sort of header?

Its identical.  The thing is though, it has to have the normal Axe header to backup it up in the first place or even show up on the list (that is, the period followed by a letter).  So in a sense, they do still have headers.

I don't get the Edit btw...  :-\

another question: are the included prgm's also backed-up? or do we lose them when in RAM on RAM clears?
everytime that I was down, you would always come around, and get my feedback on the ground. (modified part from 'Seasons in the sun')

No matter how many errors are bothering you, always try to stay rel-Axe!

You would lose them unless you back them up manually.  But you can archive your included programs while working on your main program so they don't need to be in ram in the first place.

EDIT: Oh, just reread the Axe commands list...

Can we also just add an header to them too so they can be backed up from the Axe menu? That might clutter the list a bit, though.

Maybe a header that starts with a period and a different token to mark it for backup? It would be translated to a comment in the main program anyway.
