On Calc Documentation
« on: June 03, 2010, 05:06:26 pm »
Would it be possible to convert the command list and the documentation into an independent app, include them in the Axe app or make a DocDE file of them? It'd be really helpful, since memorizing these commands is difficult...
I did it with the command list, however .pdf to .txt conversion is rather difficult.

I think he is planning for future Axe versions to have a small summary of command syntax included with the app. However it will most likely be small or short, to not make the app too large.

That'd be nice. I'm still carrying around a printed copy of the documentation everywhere my calculator goes (which is to say everywhere :)).

That "Help" item in the app menu has been annoying me... I hope he either gets rid of it or makes it do something...

I hope eventually he'll make a Catalog Help style App for Axe.  I think that would be extremely useful. :D

Also ctlghelp app would be nice. Just make sure to maybe include it as an option if it's gonna be more than 2 pages of APP, though.

There will eventually be some on-calculator help.  That's why the help button is there.  It will take a lot of time to write though, which is why I'm not going to add it until the end.

Yeah I suggest adding it in the end, because the parsing is the priority, right ;)
Or can't someone make another app for people who want it on their calc, and people who mastered Axe can delete it for more room?

Plus if he adds it now, he'll need to update it every version (and may even forget sometimes, like how he just forgot to change 0.2.5 to 0.2.6 at the top of the doc pages ;D) which will slow down updates x.x.

I like jsj suggestion about separate APP, though.

I could give y'all my copy of the command list converted to Ebook format readable on the 83, if you want.

  || Yes, I want it!  (Yay!  Don't have to comment the thing I want my program to do every time I don't have the command list!)
could you attach it here instead of emailing it though?

What software do we need to open the Ebook? I assume either DocDE from Cemetech or Notefolio from TI, right?

there's a ebook convertor on ticalc I've used to make the illiad and sherlock holmes, worked well, just didn't feel like reading them :)  is that what you are using yoman?  (btw it makes it an independant app so you only need the one app to read it)

I take it you're talking about Flashbook 1.0 beta 4?
I've use it a few times myself.

I did not even know that existed. In fact, for e-books, besides Notefolio/DocDE and K-Edit (discontinued) I was certain they were only available for 68k calculators.

Is that program even on ticalc.org?
