yeah I tried many of them (most are in the archives at Omnimaga), my favorite one was Final Fantasy Alternative, it rocked so much but yours seems to have better graphics and more options.  :)smile.gif FF7 and Mystic legend were also good but not enough graphics :(sad.gif

Now its time to get down and dirty. I am going to explain the battle system and ask for much needed help.

In this game there are two different types of battle types: Battles and Boss Battles.

The Regular battle type MUST support:
Up to three on three battle
Monster Magic and Attack cards on a two sided board
Ability to use weapons.
Each character on your team, including Darcondia, the main character, must be able to be controlled by the program. This way you can sit back and let the computer fight the CPU for you.

The object of the battle is to kill all enemies on the opposite side of the board. In order to attack an opponent:
You?re opponent must not have any monsters defending him

and likewise, if you don't have any monsters defending you, you can receive direct damage.

You can't use your weapon while you have monsters on your side of the board.

Each monster has OP (Offensive points) and DP (Defensive points.)
The monsters firepower is the average of their op and dp. IF a monster has op of 800 and dp of 1000 then it has a normal fire power of 900 damage while in offense mode. When a monster is in defense mode the normal firepower is equal to the dp or 1000 in the case of this monster.

When a monster takes damage in offensive mode, 75 percent of the damage comes off of op and 25 percent comes off of dp
For example, if the monster takes 400 damage, the monster's op is reduced by 300 and the monsters dp is reduced by 100. The monster new stats are 500 op / 700 dp. The new normal damage while in op mode is 600 (500 + 700 divided by 2, the average). However the monster normal damage while in dp mode is 700 (dp is 700). So you can do more damage if you are in dp mode. But:

When a monster takes damage in defense mode, 100 percent of the damage comes off of the dp. If the example monster revieves another 500 damage, his op remains 500 while is dp take a full reduction to 200. While in defense this monster can only do 200 damage now. It is more profitable to switch this monster back to offense mode so it can do the average of the op and dp (500+200 divides by 2 is 350 damage.)

When a monster's dp reaches 0 the monster automatically goes in offensive mode.

When a monster's op reaches 0 the monster is dead, regardless of whether or not the monster has dp.

So in order to play effectively, a fair amount of strategy most go into the mode you monster cards are in. This doesn't take into account magic at all. I will cover that in a later post. If you have any questions about the system just described, please feel free to ask.

Sound cool, its nice because this game will satisfy both RPG and card games lovers, since both are combinerd together. I am not a big fan of card games (especially when they are complicated) but the story and the RPG idea of the game will make me want to play til the end (and maybe again after beating the game) :)smile.gif

Don't worry.  As always I look to make my apps ultra user friendly. The system must be designed to simplify what is happening the CPU.  I want the system to be easy to learn, but challenging to overcome without some strategy.

Depending on how the card implementation is reieved by the public, I may remove it in the sequel...oh no, I've said to much... ;)wink.gif

Maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself, but I started working on a sequal Terra Nuevo: TSOD.  It uses much finner graphical schemes and focuses more on impress than excess.  There is no way I can tell you guys anything about TN:TSOD without completely spoiling the story line of TSOD.  The only thing that I will tell you is that the actual 'Sword of Darkness' is once again not a sword.

Oh don't even worry about that, TN is completely out of site until the first part is complete... this is not one of those skewed starwars time lines where things happen in strange orders.

I need ideas for names of monsters.  Anything would be helpful, but I am looking for:
Originality
Complexity
Force
And as always, credit will be given where it is due.

like lufia on the SNES?

Hmm if I have time I might come up with monster names ideas (I have a bug bank from RL1 and RL2 bestiary), or you can also look in the bestiary.html file coming weith Reign of Legends 2 in the TI-83+ archives. Also I think you might like the user posted image button on this forum which allow you to edit your posts so you dont need to double-post like we have to do at ticalc.org :)smile.gif
