The white is my favorite, but perhaps you should turn the black back ground for the HUD on the right to a dark gray or light gray.

I do like the lighter but remember guys these are inverted planes. The lighter examples could potentially look still better with a recolored tileset.

You are right Athlor!
I may play around with recoloring the tileset after the initial release. The tile inversion was something I already had implemented to initiate a magic spell, moongate trave, and a weapon hit detection.

You could always have an option to switch the colors around. Anyone remember that scrolling shooter for the 83+ that did that? I forget the name, but I remember it being pretty good.
