now that you keep on the subject I wonder if that means that Ranman is plannign a release exactly the DAY of the 20th anniversary! O_Oshocked2.gif

The same year is good enough for me. It does seem very coincidental though.

No conspiracy here. I just need to hurry up so I can retire!

I was looking foward to seeing what you were going to do next after this, so I hope you don't retire. ^_^ You also have alot of programming expirence and could help alot of people out that have questions. Anyhow, I hope you stick around after you complete this.

Funny you should mention that. I started a project a while back based on Ultima III, but nothing like what Ranman is doing. The idea was a full revision of the game, to bring it more in line with console fantasy role-playing. (like Dragon Quest) I've considered trying to work something out on a TI platform, depending on how my current projects go. More or less, it would be a recreation of the NES version by FCI.

I'm not sure what Ranman would think of the idea, though. I suspect he likes Ultima just the way it is, and would probably raise an eyebrow at the thought of me trying to "Japan it up" a bit. :Ptongue.gif

Well... I will still hang around of course. I will not be able to undertake any large projects. But, I might do some quickies like Astrosmash. I will definitely help with programming questions as time permits.

Are you feeling hungry?

Every member in your party will eat 1 food item at 8am and again at 8pm. If you have a full compliment of 6 members in your party, you will go through 12 pieces of food per day. If you run out of food, then for each move you will lose 1 Hit Point per party member -- Ouch! If you are far away from a town, you may not make it. So pay close attention.

So... you see... Food is very critical in Ultima V. How do you get food you might ask.

- Food may be left behind as booty (treasure) from a combat kill.

- Food can be found in certain places.

- Food can be created using the "In Xen Mani" spell.

- Food and drinks (alcohol) can be purchased at the local Pub shops. This type food and drink is consumed immediately and cannot be taken on your travels. Watch out... too much alcohol will result in drunken and uncontrollable movements.

- Food rations may also be purchase at the local Pubs. This type of food is used while journeying throughout the world maps.

- Out of money but still need food? Well... you have the option of stealing it from someone's garden. It may not require money, but this will reduce your Virtue Points. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get by. Pray for forgiveness at the shrines to regain your Virtue Points.

- You steal food from someone's plate (as previous stated... stealing is a virtue hit)

- You steal wine from a wine cask (as previous stated... stealing is a virtue hit)

:rofl:rotfl.gif

Nope, there are only private owned taverns in Britannia. ;)wink.gif

But since you asked... Here are the names of the taverns along with their respective owners:

- The Honest Meal (Sam)
- The Wayfarer Tavern (Tika)
- The Sword and Keg (Nicole)
- The Slaughtered Lamb ( Duclas)
- The Humble Palate (Felicity)
- The Blue Boar Tavern (Jaymes)
- The Cat's Lair (Dr. Cat)
- The Fallen Virgin (Nikki)
- The Folley Tap (Rob)

Added 2 more methods (see above list) for obtaining sustenance: stealing wine from a wine casket, & stealing food from someone's plate of food.

I have posted this link before, but I thought I would post it again since grendel brought up the subject of Ultima III.

Anyway... Check it out...
