Calculator tricks
« on: May 26, 2009, 12:17:26 am »
Just a thought, how about we have this where everyone post any calculator (basic) coding tricks they know of(such as the large Text( function) to help every one who needs those (like me). Oh, and im not sure if this should go under help/support?

actually this would go under help and support. There's this thread alerady:

http://ourl.ca/2627

Altough it is not fully related to TI-BASIC, most tricks are for TI-BASIC. However, it misses a lot of stuff from the old forums which are gone :(

Hi cooliojazz, and welcome to Omnimaga (I don't think you've introduced yourself yet).

As DJ Omnimaga said this is already for that kind of stuff.  Another place (off-site) that's great for learning BASIC and many of its tricks is TI-Basic Developer (TI|BD).  It has tons of documentation, examples, and tricks.

No problem, the other topic had a misleading name anyway :), I will probably edit it if it gets too cluttered (for example, lot of ASM mixed with BASIC or TI-89 with TI-83)

Well... I wouldn't want to be like Arcane Wizard :P. If he acted the same way than he did on United-TI over here, he wouldn't last long x.x

Post count-wise, I might be like him, though, altough sometimes I can be a while before posting again, since I am usually busy with other stuff. Sometimes when I am bored I just refresh the board for new post while checking youtube x.x

Well, actually, back when I was active there in 2003-2004, he was usually provocative with his posts. He even made me leave for 6 months in 2005. However, AlienCC badmouthed him for that and he cooled down. When I returned he was usually fine. However we often had arguments because he loves to argue just for the sake of arguing. He usually picked on something so insignifiant as a typo that didnt made the post impossible to understand. he picked on everything, even if it was not important and he enforced his views on others as facts. This caused some flame wars on UTI and IRC. In 2007 he became worse and trollish, then on IRC he eventually resorted to racist comments against americans whenever we criticised him so he got banned, then he ban evaded about 10 times, I had to disable private messenging on IRC cuz he was flooding me. This sucked he did that considering he contributed a lot on the UTI website. Unfortunately he broke all his chances to get unbanned by ban evading. Afterward UTI was peaceful again, until about last summer

This is supposed to be a pure "Calculator tricks" topic guys, just to let you know. Trynot to get too off-topic.
