Random TI-84+ CSE Progs
« on: October 17, 2013, 10:31:50 am »
So I have a TI-84+ CSE now, as some of you may know. It's all nice and new and I've already started making some small, random programs for it.
I made this thread for just posting small BASIC programs not worthy of a topic. (like all of the stuff I made.) :P
I'll start it off by uploading some stuff when I get home.

Cool to hear. Be sure to install Doors CSE when it's ready (or if you want to test, although I recommend backing up often), because it increases ALPHA scrolling speed in the program editor. :)

Okay, here we go.

DICE- Emulates a coin toss or dice roll for D6s, D12s, and D20s.

DOODLE- Mess with it to doodle on the graph screen. I have given up hope for ever making this work properly.

RANDDRAW- Draws lines ending in circles which sprout more lines ending in circles. Clears after a certain amount. My first TI BASIC program.

SIMPLGKY- Something Spyro543 wrote on his calc, and it was a lot better than mine.

STATIC- Draws random colors to the screen by pixel. Takes around 2 hours to fill the screen if I remember correctly.

I remember you showing me these ;D You made some neat random "art" generators

Wasn't yours 40 lines and it used the graph screen? :P

Yes. Yes, it did. Also, it did not work everytime you pressed a key.

As for static, I was bored today in school and I made a small 60-some byte routine for it, it only seemed to take up about 45-50 minutes.

Btw, if you find the xLIBC commands too complicated, there is always the Celtic stuff as well which isn't too hard, since it's mainly aimed for people who use TI-BASIC commands as well. You could make some decent ASCII art games on the home screen that uses colors or even some Atari like material. :P

Yeah, xLIBC hurts my head, maybe someday though.

I have been working on some ASCII stuff though.

Yeah it can be kinda confusing too due to the whole buffer switching. You have no idea how hard it was to pull a side scrolling game from it. Now I'm doing a second one (or trying to), so wish me luck. Thankfully the new xLIB is much faster, though.

As for Celtic, here is an example of what kind of ASCII program you can do: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/456/45639.html

It might be handy for a few Illusiat ports (although there is still the issue about map storage)

I've never had a chance to use WFRNG. Maybe I'll borrow on of Spy's calcs to try it out.

It shouldn't be too hard to make from the look of it...

I don't think a port of this for the CSE is necessary, considering the 83+ version runs perfectly on the new calc.
