Gameboy emulators
« on: October 29, 2014, 07:32:43 pm »
Just a quick question that I have is that my recently purchased calculator, the nspire CX CAS, has the 3.9 OS. Thus said, I discovered that ndless is not compatible with this operating system and there is no possible known way to downgrade due to its revision letter being greater than J, to be specific mine is M. So are there any emulators/ games that do not require ndless or is there no hope and I have to play the waiting game for ndless 3.9.

It should still be able to run lua games. You can look for them.
As for emulators: you can hope that ndless will one day be updated to 3.9, but witouth ndless, an emulator isn't going to happen.
My projects
 - The Lost Survivors (Unreal Engine) ACTIVE [GameCommandoSquad main project]
 - Oxo, with single-calc multiplayer and AI (axe) RELEASED (screenshot) (topic)
 - An android version of oxo (java)  ACTIVE
 - A 3D collision detection library (axe) RELEASED! (topic)(screenshot)(more recent screenshot)(screenshot of it being used in a tilemapper)
Spoiler For inactive:
- A first person shooter with a polygon-based 3d engine. (z80, will probably be recoded in axe using GLib) ON HOLD (screenshot)
 - A java MORPG. (pc) DEEP COMA(read more)(screenshot)
 - a minecraft game in axe DEAD (source code available)
 - a 3D racing game (axe) ON HOLD (outdated screenshot of asm version)

Sadly there is no emulator available for OS 3.9 yet, since they all require Ndless. You'll have to rely on Lua games for the time being. They're much slower and simpler, but they can do the job for the time being.

When Ndless will come out for OS 3.9 (it might take a while), you will be able to play GB, GBC, GBA, NES games and some extra stuff like Quake and Doom.

Welcome to the evil world of Texas Instruments being anti-third-party dev >.<

No problem, though. If you have other questions, just ask :)
