Your file ends in tcc or tco. Tell your file manager to show file extensions, then remove the .tcc or .tco. Then you can send the file into the nlaunch directory.

Also, make sure that you have boot 2 3.1.0.16 before doing anything. Go to the home screen and go to Settings->Status->About. Scroll until you see the boot2 version.

What exactly have you done, and what do you not understand?

You might want to use nLaunchy, a fork of nLaunch.

Try nLaunchy, and follow the directions under "CX installation" All the files are located in the CX directory.

BTW, instead of double-posting, you can use the Modify button located on each of your posts :)

Step 0: Backup the documents from your nspire
Step 1: Make sure you have 3.1.0.16 boot2, but you have OS 3.1.0.392, so you already have it
Step 2: Get a compatible OS. This means download the OS file onto your computer

So how do I do step 0 like could you please explain the method how? And step 2 can I just omit since I am on 3.1.0.392. And i have the 3.1.0.392 on my computer. So if you could please explain how to approach step 0 and then tell me what to do next that would be great.  BTW thanks soooooo much you don't know how much you became like a savior after you responded :)

Just use the TiLP or the Student Software, and send all the files to your computer.

EDIT: I have to go now, sorry

correction: You were not doing so well. Please use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Also, please do not 'Double Post', which means posting twice in a row. Instead, use the modify button to the top-right of your post. Thank you.
Now that we have that out of the way. That is how you do step 0.
Before we go any further, I am going to ask why you want to do this.

Sorry for my grammar
um so how do i say something if i can't post twice in a row do i wait until he posts something?( i am new and sorry if that sounded like sarcasm)
thanks for confirming i did step 0 correctly.
I would like to do this because my teacher said that he recommends that each student get a ti-nspire cas but i got the cx a while ago and don't want to sell it and buy another one i just want to use this for this class and maybe in the future(definitely not on tests where the cas is prohibited only where it is allowed) Could you help me on continuing how to do this please?

Edit: I have 3.1.0.392 on my calculator and i have used TNOC to remove the boot2 and renamed it phoenix.tns that is all. Could you help me continue from there by addressing if i am currently using the right program from my computer (ti computer link program) and if not where i should download the new one.

You can use the modify button, like I did when I forgot to add that you could use the modify button on my last post.
I was just making sure you are in accordance with the forum rules before I helped you cheat or something like that. I don't know why it's so dire that you need a CAS immediatly though. It sounds to me a bit like you have a test tomorrow.
For now, download a CAS nspire OS from here http://ti-pla.net/a3718

Hello there. As others have mentioned, please do not double post. This is making two posts in a row with less than a day between them and no other responses. You can use the "modify" button in the top right of your post box if you have something to add. I have combined a post or two of yours and gotten rid of an unnecessary one. People don't always respond immediately either, so keep that in mind.
