Follow
these
instructions to send nlaunch.tco as an OS. The computer software will show an error, which is expected.
The calc should reboot, and you should see the letters "PP" and some numbers in the top-right corner. When the progress bar is about 60%, you should plug your calc out to increase the reliability of the installation, but this is not strictly necessary.

Ok, first of all I already mentioned to you not to double post within such a short time period. I consolidated your three posts into one. The "modify" button is there for a reason. Secondly, I re-sized your ginormous picture so people can actually see it without having to scroll. Third, you seem to have no clue what you are doing. If you are honestly this uncomfortable with this procedure, perhaps you shouldn't be messing with it. It just seems like a recipe for disaster to me.

If you sent nlaunch.tco, and got an error on the computer, you should be fine. The PP is very tiny and should appear in the upper left corner.

Can you send a picture of the files on your calc?
(Close the Student software and open it again)
EDIT: If you're in school, try it when you get home and have access to the Student software.

Reformating your computer or getting a new one with no pre-installed crap should fix the problem. In some cases, such software mysteriously starts working again, but when they don't, that's pretty much the only way I ever managed to fix any of my TI linking issues (I'm dead serious, although I only really had big problems with non-USB cables. USB ones would usually mysteriously start working again a few days later), because when it comes to TI softwares, once they stop communicating with your calc, it's pretty much game over. If that still fails, then the only other solution I can think about is getting a non-TI calc that acts like an USB Flash drive when connected (such as the Casio PRIZM or the upcoming HP Prime).
Note that it's entirely possible that your calculator, USB cable or USB port is defective too.

Nah, but for some reasons, certain computers will permanently stop detecting any calculator totally randomly, then no matter what you try, nothing will solve the problem. I had this happen in college when all 32 computers in the classroom wouldn't detect my calc. As soon as I got my own computer at home, I could link to my calc with no problem right from the start, same with my other computer afterward (except for a brief period of time where TI-Connect stopped working randomly). It's entirely possible that school/parental filters, firewalls, antiviruses or such things might be the issue, though.
Hopefully someone else can find another solution that isn't as rash, but since Texas Instruments decided to stay in 1992, it is much harder.

Try redownloading
nlaunch.tco
(Click on the link and save it) and try sending it again.
